AKKERMAN, JAN & KAZ LUX (see also: Focus, Brainbox) - JAN AKKERMAN & KAZ LUX - Eli - WEA Edition - UNIKALNY CDprice: 75,00 PLN / 18,75 EUR
The album "Eli" is the result of a collaboration between two musicians: Jan Akkerman and Kaz Lux. Akkerman – a Dutch guitarist and composer, considered one of the most important musicians in the history of Dutch rock – gained fame in the 70s as a co-founder of the band Focus. Kaz Lux, a Dutchman of Polish origin, became famous as the charismatic frontman of the progressive band Brainbox, and later as a soloist with an expressive, vivid voice. Musically "Eli" (1976) combines progressive rock with elements of jazz, at times also brushing against soul. The whole is varied – alongside calmer, more atmospheric passages there are extended forms with rich, polished arrangements and a clearly marked role for the guitar. Only one copy. New, sealed. -

The album "Eli" is the result of a collaboration between two musicians: Jan Akkerman and Kaz Lux. Musically "Eli" (1976) combines progressive rock with elements of jazz, at times also brushing against soul. -

AVALANCHE - AVALANCHE - Perseverance Kills Our Game - Guerssen Records - UNIKALNY CDprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A very rare and long-forgotten release from 1979 that only gained recognition years later and has become an important collector's item. Avalanche's music is instrumental, fairly chamber-like progressive rock with strong jazz influences. The compositions are extended and develop slowly, often through repetition and subtle shifts of accent. There is a kinship with Soft Machine of the jazz rock period, but without their irony and British looseness, and at certain moments a cool, detached aura emerges, familiar from the more experimental incarnations of King Crimson. 2014 reissue. Only one copy! New, sealed. -
AYREON - AYREON - 01011001 (2CD) - Music Theories Recordings - UNIKALNY CDprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
An extended, two-disc concept album by Arjen Lucassen from 2008, in the rock opera form characteristic of Ayreon. Musically it is a combination of heavier, guitar parts with spacious keyboards and electronics. The compositions are multi-part, flowing smoothly between passages of differing dynamics – from more energetic, riff-driven sections to calmer, mood-building ones. The whole has a distinctly cinematic character, and the futuristic theme underlines the "cosmic" feel of the music. It is one of the more extended and representative records in Ayreon's catalogue – an important item for fans of progressive metal and concept albums. Only one copy! New, sealed. -
AYREON - AYREON - Universal Migrator Part I & II - (2CD) Special Edition - UNIKALNY CDprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
The two-disc release of "Universal Migrator" from 2000 is an extended concept project, divided into two distinctly different parts. The first (The Dream Sequencer) is more atmospheric and spacious in character – based on synthesisers, calmer tempos and a narrative form. The second (Flight of the Migrator) brings a distinct sharpening of the sound, with dominant guitars, a more dynamic rhythm section, more metal. The whole is based on the rock opera form. Ayreon is an important item for fans of progressive metal and concept albums. Only one copy! New, sealed. -

BRAINBOX (see also: Focus / Jan Akkerman) - BRAINBOX - Parts +4 - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! Second album by an excellent Dutch formation, earlier led by two later Focus musicians. How little known the LP "Parts", released in 1972 (by EMI Harvest), is can be shown by the fact that in the cult and much sought-after book "Scented Gardens Of The Mind" (devoted to the European progressive scene of the 70s) the author listed this catalogue record as... a compilation! So it is worth pointing out that it is completely brand new, rock, decidedly guitar-driven playing (with two ballads) close to the style of such groups as Wishbone Ash, the Dutch Cargo and Livin' Blues - with a touch of the then so popular Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Despite two weaker passages it is a really great, very varied record that will certainly satisfy 80-90% of fans of old playing! In addition several rare tracks from singles (not included among the bonus tracks to the debut) and a live number from the super rare, compilation (vinyl) soundtrack to the film 'Paradiso' (1971) are included. Highly recommended! -

CARGO - CARGO - Cargo - EU Sun King Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
The only album by this Dutch band is simply a model of European, heavy progressive rock and at the same time one of the 5-10 best guitar albums in history! The vinyl is filled with only four tracks, lasting in turn: 11, 8, 5 and 15 minutes! The greatest attraction of the record is the superb and at the same time very atmospheric guitar improvisations backed by a very solid and juicy rhythm section. If someone would like to hear what a combination of the style of Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Wishbone Ash might sound like - they simply must have this album! The nearly 16-minute "Summerfair" closing the record is one of the best rock numbers I have heard in my life! A reissue of the vinyl released in 1972 by EMI Harvest, new, unsealed. An absolute must! COSMIC DEALER (see also: Zipps) - COSMIC DEALER - Crystallization +5 - EU Once Again Expanded Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Released in 1971, the legendary, only album by a Dutch band combining at times heavyish progressive rock with psychedelia and which may bring to mind the Pretty Things' LP "Parachute" (1970), underrated in Poland, as well as the early recordings of Focus and Jethro Tull. As an original on the Negram label it is probably the most expensive progressive record from the Netherlands, fetching 1000-1200 euros in perfect condition. Plus five recordings from Dutch TV from 1971 are included. Very highly recommended! (JL) -
COSMIC DEALER (see also: Zipps) - COSMIC DEALER - Crystallization - EU Sun King Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
The only album by a Dutch band combining progressive rock with psychedelia and hard rock, which may bring to mind the Pretty Things' "Parachute", underrated in Poland, and the early recordings of Focus and Jethro Tull. As an original on the Negram label it is probably the most expensive progressive/psychedelic record from the Netherlands, fetching 1000-1200 euros in perfect condition. This is a very attractive-looking 2024 reissue, in a laminated sleeve and with very nice sound. CONDITION: new, unsealed. -
CRYPTO (see also: Head Over Heels) - CRYPTO - Crypto - GER Paisley Press Remastered Edition - LISTEN - UNIKALNY CDprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
The only album by a Dutch jazz-rock band. Crypto (1975) is an interesting example of the German underground on the border of krautrock and hard rock, where heavier, guitar-driven playing meets psychedelic freedom and a slight progressive bent. The record is based mainly on solid, often repetitive riffs, expansive instrumental parts and a palpable, "trance-like" rhythm characteristic of the krautrock scene. ONLY ONE COPY! New, sealed. -

EARTH AND FIRE - EARTH AND FIRE - Songs Of The Marching Children +10 - EU Prog Gems Expanded Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, remastered, limited, European edition (IN THE GERMAN POLYDOR SLEEVE FROM 1972, NEVER USED ON CD) of the excellent second album by the once very popular Dutchmen, released by Polydor in October 1971. Considered by many the best achievement of this progressive band (with a charming, female vocal), recalling here the style of the then Pink Floyd (juicily wailing guitar), early Genesis (beautiful melodies) and the debut of King Crimson (mellotron) with a vocal in the style of Mariska Veres of Shocking Blue. The first side of the record was filled with 4 shorter tracks (including the brilliant, building, flagship 'Storm And Thunder'), while the second part of the original vinyl was taken up by the brilliant, title, multi-part, 18-minute suite, kept in a varied but generally dark mood and enchanting with almost symphonic sweep. What is more interesting, the bonus tracks are in no way inferior to 'the second one' and may even be better! The singles (A and B sides) released at the time were splendid, and the added, television versions sound better and stronger than the originals! The booklet contains a reproduction of the black-and-gold front and middle of the original, Dutch sleeve, so nothing has been lost. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
EARTH AND FIRE - EARTH AND FIRE - Atlantis +7 - EU Prog Gems Expanded Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, remastered, limited, European edition of the third (and last excellent) album, recorded in autumn 1972 and released by Polydor in March 1973, by Dutchmen playing stylish top-shelf progressive rock in the style of Pink Floyd, Camel, old Genesis, The Moody Blues and Focus - with a great, female vocal. As with the CD 'Songs Of The Marching Children' (also recently released with bonus tracks by Prog Gems), one side of the record is filled by a brilliant, probably even better, delightful 17-minute suite combining stunning melody with the progressive canon. All fans of classic prog rock (wailing but powerful-sounding guitars, analogue synthesiser, Hammond organ, mellotron, dark atmospheres) will be delighted and I know what I'm writing, because over the years I strongly underrated this album! Additionally 7 recordings are added to the disc - including the B-side of a single from 1974 and a nearly 40-minute fragment of a great concert from March 1974 coming from the archive of the band's original sound engineer. Unfortunately, after 1975 (after a nice fourth record) the band turned towards pop music and somewhat tarnished its reputation as, alongside Focus, in my opinion the best progressive band from Holland! The sound is excellent and of course beats hands down the lifeless versions from YouTube or Spotify. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
EARTH AND FIRE - EARTH AND FIRE - Earth And Fire +5 - EU Prog Gems Expanded Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, remastered, limited, European edition (IN THE VERY RARE JAPANESE POLYDOR VINYL SLEEVE, NEVER BEFORE RELEASED ON CD) of the fantastic debut, released in September 1970, by Dutchmen playing early progressive rock. Splendid, catchy compositions, a dense sound based on the interplay of Hammond organ, mellotron and often heavy guitar (Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Golden Earring and King Crimson in one) and a charming, almost perfect female vocal bringing to mind Shocking Blue and Jefferson Airplane! Tracks such as 'Vivid Shady Land' or the extended, psychedelic 'Love Quiver' will delight every fan of old, ambitious rock! NOTE! 'Wild And Exciting', opening the record, is 20 seconds longer than the version on the old and somewhat worse-sounding Esoteric version, because the Brits were given a tape with the single version (with the splendid guitar solo heavily trimmed) and nobody there noticed... For years this was my favourite album by the band, though recently the next 2 titles, somewhat more sophisticated, have probably equalled it. The CD contains nearly 40 minutes of additional material, including 2 tracks from single B-sides, a splendid version of 'Storm And Thunder' from German 'Beat-Club', but above all the brilliant, extended, as-much-as-24-minute version of 'Song For The Marching Children' from the second album, recorded live in the TV studio (without an audience) in 1972 - perhaps better and more dramatic than the original record version of 1971, which is 5 minutes shorter! The whole sounds excellent - much better than the material on YouTube! The booklet contains reproductions of as many as 3 original sleeves: the Japanese from 1970 (front), the Dutch from 1970 (page 2, while the middle was placed under the tray) and probably the prettiest, but heavily worn, British one from 1971 - by the brilliant Roger Dean (inside). AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL)
