A French, limited reissue in a gatefold sleeve, from Absinthe, of the cult debut by guitarist Shinki Chen, released in February 1971 (earlier in Powerhouse and Food Brain, and right afterwards in Speed Glue & Shinki). The album was recorded with the help of, among others, Hiro Yanagida (a colleague from Food Brain), and it is dominated by heavy, Hendrix-style, bluesy, at times strongly psychedelic playing. A vinyl edition limited to 500 copies of the sole sensational album, released in 1971, by a forgotten French band, combining wacky psychedelic rock with Hendrix-style guitar and a stylish vocal à la Jimi. Fortunately it was not simple copying, but quite original, strongly swaying, sharp, at times downright wild playing - full of experiments with sound. Now worth nearly 1000 euros (in Near Mint condition), the album decidedly sounded more like 1969 than 1971. This version contains five additional recordings from rare singles. A very nice Spanish reissue (with a gatefold insert) of an album released at the end of 1969, one of the 5 best psychedelic records made at the end of the 60s outside Europe and the USA. A splendid album - a collector's Holy Grail worth, as an excellently preserved original on the Head-Arzi label, around 5000-6000 euros! This Israeli band (with a British guitarist/leader) combined in an original way the aesthetics of British psychedelia (especially in the first part) with heavier, almost experimental sounds (side 2) with the melodies of the local folk. Unfortunately at the time almost nobody in Israel listened to such 'anarchistic' music, which is why the record sold in minimal numbers. Soon afterwards the group went to the UK and transformed into the excellent Jericho Jones and then into Jericho! A must! -

A brilliant debut album by Arthur Brown (or rather by the band The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown). Without doubt it is one of the most interesting items of the late 60s. An incredible vocalist (inspired by the singing of Otis Redding and James Brown), insistent organ (Vincent Crane - later in Atomic Rooster), nice bass (Nicholas Greenwood - known from the LP "Cold Cuts" and the band Khan), dynamic, superbly arranged, at times almost diabolical compositions and finally the incredible, hit "Fire"! The whole thing was produced by Pete Townsend. A genuine classic of the psychedelic era! A 2025 reissue, on pink vinyl. (JL) -

LAST COPY! This is brand new, previously unreleased material by a British formation made up of future members of Traffic, Family and Art/Spooky Tooth - with Gordon Jackson (known from the great album with Blossom Toes and Mighty Baby as the backing group...) on vocals. Unfortunately, during the recording of the debut album (autumn 1966) Jim Capaldi left for Traffic and that was the end. Only five tracks were made. Excellent playing somewhere between freakbeat and early psychedelia - something in the style of very early Pink Floyd, Art, Fleur De Lys, etc. Recommended! Condition: NEW, sealed. -

In short: a combination of early Pink Floyd (with Barrett) with Eric Burdon And The Animals, with a pinch of the Rolling Stones from their 'Satanic' period. A 2018 reissue, on clear vinyl. A must!
