SANTANA - SANTANA - Live At Tanglewood 1970 - FRA On The Air Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This limited CD, released in a run of 500 copies, contains a performance of over 70 minutes recorded by Bill Graham's crew at the Tanglewood venue in summer 1970 - just before the release of the LP "Abraxas". The band was in excellent form, and the set of tracks downright frenzied! The sound quality is perfect and for 1970 - probably could not have been better. A must! (JL) -
CD
SANTANA - SANTANA - Live At The Fillmore 1968 (2CD) - EU Editionprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Double CD released in 1997, containing an unreleased-in-its-day, sensational performance by Carlos Santana's then young band, from the Fillmore in San Francisco, from before the recording of the debut album! It is really worth listening to the early, often improvised versions of tracks later known from the first studio record. A must! -
CD

SEVEN - SEVEN - The Song Is Song - The Album Is Album - EU Eclipse Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
FIRST TIME ON CD! A long-awaited by die-hard fans, great-sounding reissue from the Eclipse label of the only album, released in 1970, by a cult, American jazz-rock band with slightly soul and funk inclinations. Personally I am not fond (to put it delicately) of funk from the late 70s and after..., but early, funky playing circa 1969-1971 is excellent! I have known and owned The Seven's only and completely forgotten record for many years and consider it one of the nicest and most convincing titles inspired by the work of Blood Sweat & Tears and Chicago Transit Authority. The musicians of The Seven played with somewhat more ease, but with no less fire and dynamism - especially in the guitar parts! Probably if the LP had come out on, say, CBS/Columbia (rather than the local label Thunderbird), we would be dealing with another jazz-rock star! Highly recommended! (JL) -

SOFT MACHINE - SOFT MACHINE - Third / BBC Live In London (2CD) - EU Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Two-disc edition in a traditional jewel case, EXPANDED (on the second CD) with 38 minutes of live material from the BBC archive, once released by the small Reckless label as "Live At The Proms 1970". The band still in great form, although the music became somewhat more twisted than on the earlier album. On the other hand, among many collectors there is an absolute cult around this record - usually named as one of the most important achievements of the progressive genre! Four compositions of 20 minutes each. Recommended! -

SOFT MACHINE - SOFT MACHINE - Bundles (2CD) - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
The band's eighth studio album, the first released by the Harvest label. Allan Holdsworth played brilliantly on guitars here! Remastered 2022 edition, to which a second CD has been added, containing a recording of a concert on 11 October 1975 at Nottingham University, remastered from the original master tapes, previously released under the title "British Tour '75". Unfortunately Holdsworth was no longer in the band then, having left for the New Tony Williams Lifetime, and he recommended John Etheridge, who had previously played in Icarus and Darryl Way's Wolf, in his place. The whole thing comes in a gatefold digipak. Highly recommended! (MU) -

CD
SOFT MACHINE - SOFT MACHINE - Live At The Paradiso - UK Floating World Edition - LISTENprice: 65,00 PLN / 16,25 EUR
An incredible, often "bootlegged" concert from the mixing desk, from the band's best period. The band combined psych, prog and jazz perfectly - something like Egg, Arzachel and early Caravan. Alongside the band's first two (three) albums it is an essential item! A must! -

SOFT MACHINE - SOFT MACHINE - Soft Machine (1st Album) +2 - JAP Remastered Expanded Limited Edition - LISTENprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
The brilliant debut of Soft Machine - an incredible combination of intense psychedelia with elements of jazz and early prog rock. The only LP with Kevin Ayers; overdriven organ, pulsating bass, galloping drums (the drum kit known from the first three Hendrix records!) and the wonderful, sleepy voice of Robert Wyatt... Additionally two tracks from the 1967 debut single (still with Daevid Allen). A limited edition from Japanese Polydor, from 2021. An absolute must! (JL) -
CD
SOFT MACHINE - SOFT MACHINE - Bundles - UK Esoteric - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Long-awaited remastered edition of the eighth album (and the first for EMI Harvest) by the cult progressive formation - now with the sensational Allan Holdsworth on guitar! The albums from 1975-1978 were characterised by a more accessible, guitar-driven, rock sound (than the earlier records of the 70s, based on keyboards and brass). Recommended! -

SOFT MACHINE - SOFT MACHINE - Softs - UK Esoteric Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Remastered edition of a classic (though rather late) album by a legend of British jazz-prog rock. Like the 1975 CD "Bundles", the album was filled with jazzy, guitar-driven material - somewhat in the vein of the recordings of Gong of the time, and even the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Allan Holdsworth is replaced here by John Etheridge, known from Wolf (Darryl Way's band). Recommended! -
CD
SOFT MACHINE - SOFT MACHINE - Virtually - Live In Bremenprice: 95,00 PLN / 23,75 EUR
Unreleased, live material from 1971 - still with Robert Wyatt. -
CD
SOFT MACHINE - SOFT MACHINE - Volumes One And Two - UK Big Beat Editionprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
British CD from Big Beat containing the two best titles by the legendary progressive British band. The first, genuinely brilliant album was recorded by the line-up of Wyatt/Ayers/Ratledge and genuinely was ahead of its time, combining psychedelia with jazzy rock in its own way. The second record was of a similar, though more jazzy, character. Without early Soft Machine there probably would have been no Caravan, Egg and Gong! In all 75 minutes of stunning, imaginative music. A MUST! (JL) -

SPEDDING, CHRIS (see also: Battered Ornaments / Nucleus) - CHRIS SPEDDING - Songs Without Words - UK Esoteric Remastered Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The debut solo album by the British guitarist, extremely distinguished on the rock and jazz scene. On the record, which was made in 1969, Spedding is accompanied by: Roger "Butch" Potter - bass guitar, John Marshall - drums, John Mitchell - keyboards and Paul Rutherford - trombone. From the publisher: "Although the album was due to be released by Harvest in Great Britain, it appeared only in Japan, only in April 1971, partly because of Spedding's dissatisfaction with the musical direction and mood of the album." This edition is from 2024 and has been remastered from the original tapes. Digipak with a 12-page booklet inside. (MU) -

SYRIUS - SYRIUS - Syrius (1st Album) +6 - AUT Enigmatic Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Remastered edition (from Enigmatic) of the excellent debut album by a Hungarian jazz-prog-rock formation - recorded and originally released (1971) in Australia (on the label Spin - in the original, silver cover with a black logo), and only a year later in Hungary, as "Devil's Masquerade". This is fantastic, progressive playing with strong jazz influences - no worse than the work of Colosseum, Blodwyn Pig or Chicago Transit Authority - not to mention lesser-known groups such as Heaven, Hannibal, Samurai or Walrus. The band could excellently keep a balance between genres (often even brushing against heavy rock...) and to tell the truth, with the possible exception of the Czech Flamengo (LP "Kure v Hodinkach" from 1972), I do not recall better jazz-rock playing from the Eastern Bloc - this album is practically beyond competition! Unlike the old, mercilessly dull version, the new, 80-minute CD sounds excellent, very juicy, although some tape hiss remains. In addition fantastic recordings (mainly covers of well-known compositions - please look at the titles) made during the same Australian session are included. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! (JL) -

TIPPETT, KEITH -GROUP- (see also: King Crimson) - KEITH TIPPETT GROUP - Dedicated To You, But You Weren't Listening - UK Esoteric Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Remastered edition of the excellent jazz-rock record, made in 1971 (for the label Vertigo), with the cream of British musicians (including from Soft Machine and Nucleus), led by one of the most original pianists of that time. The title of the album was taken from a Soft Machine track. Highly recommended! (MU) -

TRIO (see also: John Surman / John McLaughlin / Mike Westbrook) - TRIO - Incantation - Dawn Recordings 1970-1971 (2CD) - UK Esoteric Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
Two albums by a progressive-jazz band ("The Trio" from 1970 and "Conflagration" from 1971), made up of the British saxophonist John Surman, the American double bassist Barre Phillips and the American drummer Stu Martin. On the second, guests included Chick Corea, John Marshall (Nucleus, later in Soft Machine), and also the cornetist Marc Charig and trombonist Nick Evans, known for their work with King Crimson. Highly recommended! (MU)
