SBB - SBB +4 - POL Polskie Nagrania / Warner Music Poland Edition (SACD Hybrid)

The band's debut album, recorded live at the Stodoła club in Warsaw on 18 and 19 April 1974. Three extended compositions combine Apostolis Anthimos's heavy guitar sound with Józef Skrzek's multi-layered bass, piano and Moog synthesizer parts, and the precise, inventive drumming of Jerzy Piotrowski. The music moves freely from powerful rock passages to jazz-rock improvisations and atmospheric, spacious stretches, and the expansive forms give the instrumentalists room to show off their superb skills. The album set the direction for SBB's further development and remains one of the most important achievements of Polish progressive music. The 2024 edition in a limited SACD Hybrid version includes four bonus tracks, supplementing the original programme with further examples of the band's creative explorations.
