A three-disc compilation containing recordings from the independent Australian label Clarion, from the 60s and early 70s. It was founded by Martin Clarke, who lived in Perth and worked at a local radio station, and who turned a bedroom into a makeshift recording studio. This modest venture turned into Martin Clarke Recording Studios, which opened in 1962 and became the first professional recording facility in Perth. Between 1965 and 1974 Clarion released approx. 120 singles and 20 albums, including The Valentines with Bon Scott in the line-up. -

Double edition in a traditional jewel case, containing the stereo mix (in my opinion somewhat poorer, but more spacious than the mono...) and as many as sixteen great bonuses. At the same time the title was the band's peak achievement and also the quintessence of the freakbeat style and a bridge between beat/rhythm'n'blues and psychedelia! The mono mix differed decidedly from the stereo. A must!
