VARIOUS ARTISTS - Clarion Set - Story Of Australian Independent Label Clarion 1965-1974 (3CD BOX) - UK Grapefruit Edition

A three-disc compilation containing recordings from the independent Australian label Clarion, from the 60s and early 70s. It was founded by Martin Clarke, who lived in Perth and worked at a local radio station, and who turned a bedroom into a makeshift recording studio. This modest venture turned into Martin Clarke Recording Studios, which opened in 1962 and became the first professional recording facility in Perth. Between 1965 and 1974 Clarion released approx. 120 singles and 20 albums, including The Valentines with Bon Scott in the line-up.
