OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – Time Robber (1976) + Skyrover (1978) (2CD) - GER MIG Music Edition - LISTENprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A 2CD collecting two somewhat later, but probably the most important, English-language albums by Omega from the period of its (relatively) greatest international successes. It is worth knowing that in 1975-1978 the band's records came out not only in Germany, but also in Britain, in several European countries and in North America! "Time Robber" (1976) was characterised by the mighty sound of Moog synthesisers and mellotron and striking guitar parts, which gave the music a monumental, almost symphonic character. "Skyrover" (1978) develops this style, offering more compact compositions, while retaining the space, melodiousness and cosmic atmosphere characteristic of the band. The distinct keyboard parts, dynamic rhythm section and expressive singing of János Kóbor created a coherent whole. Highly recommended! (JL) -

Additionally 2 rare recordings are included. A MUST! (JL) -

The original album, released in 1972, is probably the best title ever recorded by Omega and at the same time among the top five rock albums of Eastern Europe! Made in a silver-foil-covered box, the anniversary 4-disc box set from 2022 contains: CD1 – the remastered album Élő Omega (1972) with additional tracks. OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – Gammapolis (English Version, 1978) & Live At The Kisstadion (1979) (2CD) - German MIG Music Edition - LISTENprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
The two-disc release from the German label MIG Music combines two classic titles from the somewhat later period of Omega's activity. Released first in Germany in the English version, Gammapolis (1978), popular among fans, is an album full of extended compositions, striking synthesiser and mellotron parts and characteristic, melodic guitars, which create a monumental, cosmic sound, combining progressive rock with hard rock energy and catchy themes. Filling CD2, 'Live at The Kisstadion' (1979) was recorded during concerts in Budapest in September 1979 and shows the band in excellent live form, presenting extended versions of pieces, virtuoso instrumental parts and superb cooperation between the musicians. Highly recommended! -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – Omega (1973) + III (1974) (2CD) - GER MIG Music Edition - LISTENprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A splendid, two-disc, German release from 2022 collecting two (Omega, 1973 and III, 1974) English-language albums made for the West European market and produced for Bellaphon by Peter Hauke - producer of Nektar and many other great progressive bands from Germany. Most of the compositions came originally from the Hungarian records 'Elo Omega' and '5'. Omega showed its characteristic combination of progressive rock, hard rock and melodic space rock, enriching the sound with rich parts for Hammond organ, mellotron and Moog synthesisers. A MUST! OPEN MIND - OPEN MIND - Open Mind +4 - EU Magic Potion Expanded Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, limited edition of the only, but excellent, album, released by the Philips label in the summer of 1969, by a British psychedelic band that also did not shy away from new, heavy sounds. Of course 'Open Mind' was a kind of epitaph for the psychedelic era that was just ending, but, devoid of any promotion, it unfortunately went unnoticed, which is why today the original LP in great condition costs around 2000 euros today and is the object of longing of probably every collector of psychedelia on vinyl! The record will certainly appeal to lovers of bands such as Andwella's Dream, The Attack (that is pre-Andromeda) or Pretty Things (from the 'S.F. Sorrow' period). 4 tracks have been added to the album's contents: two splendid single tracks (Magic Potion and Cast Your Spell) in a mono mix (from the original single worth over 2000 euros!!!) and stereo (the official mix from Polygram tapes taken from the first Rubble compilation of 1984)! The mentioned 'Magic Potion' belongs today to the rock canon and for me is one of the most stunning and best short tracks of the late 60s! This is the best-sounding edition of the record - better than the Sunbeam Records version! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: NEW, sealed. -
CD

An English band with a single, but excellent album, released in 1971 only in the USA. Slow, heavy, guitar-driven sound very much resembling the work of Mountain and Free, but above all Leaf Hound and Jodo. A remastered edition from the Spanish label Sommor, from 2022. Highly recommended! (JL) -
CD
ORANGE PEEL (see also: Epsilon) - ORANGE PEEL - Orange Peel +2 - EU Prog Gems Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Released in 1970 by Bellaphon Records, a great and unfortunately only album by a German band and at the same time one of the first truly progressive titles from Germany! Its strength was decided mainly by the splendid, very intense rock suite, full of changes of mood, filling the first part of the record, based on the mighty, slightly distorted sound of the Hammond organ and Purple-like guitar. On the other side the track closing the whole, lasting over 10 minutes, was hardly inferior to it at all. The whole, resembling the then-current but much less commercial work of Deep Purple ('In Rock') and Uriah Heep (debut), was dominated by a dark, slightly psychedelic mood - known even from the stylistically somewhat different records of Nosferatu and Xhol Caravan. Additionally 2 tracks from the debut, very nice single from 1970 are included. A MUST! Condition: NEW, sealed. -

OUT OF FOCUS (see also: Sahara) - OUT OF FOCUS - Wake Up +3 - EU Prog Gems Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Out Of Focus are without doubt one of the 10 best progressive bands of the 70s from outside Britain! Released at the beginning of 1971 by the Kuckuck label (known among other things also for records by Murphy Blend and Armaggedon), a splendid album by a forgotten German band - in my humble opinion it is probably the best title from Germany in the circle of heavy, progressive rock! A brilliant combination of the atmospheres of early Jethro Tull with Pink Floyd and with a pinch of Colosseum - backed by very solid rhythm section playing and an excellent, pleasantly mannered vocal. Full of imagination and unrestrained power, a 78-minute CD without weak points! Additionally 3 linked-together live tracks (from Palermo 1972) lasting 30 minutes together are included! Excellent sound - slightly clearer than on the Ohrwashl edition, and a much nicer booklet containing several rare photos of this splendid band! NOTE! The short sound of a cuckoo clock placed at the end of the record always appeared at the end of each vinyl side of albums on the Kuckuck label and until now had not been included! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
CD
OUT OF FOCUS (see also: Sahara) - OUT OF FOCUS - Out Of Focus (2nd Album) +3 - EU Prog Gems Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Released in September 1971, the splendid second album by the progressive Germans strongly resembled the strongly Jethro Tull-like (with an admixture of Pink Floyd and Colosseum) debut (again 6 tracks lasting nearly 50 minutes), but was a somewhat more jazzy work, even more inspired by the work of the beloved and very influential in Germany group Colosseum. This is another CD without any filler! As on the brilliant debut, 3 live tracks (from Palermo, Italy, from May 1972) lasting 30 minutes together are included! Excellent sound - slightly clearer than on the old Ohrwashl 1991 edition, and the disc contains a nicer booklet again collecting several rare photos of this splendid band! NOTE! The short sound of a cuckoo clock placed at the end of the record always appeared at the end of each vinyl side of albums on the Kuckuck label and until now had not been included! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
CD
OUT OF FOCUS (see also: Sahara) - OUT OF FOCUS - Four Letter Monday Afternoon +10 (2CD) - EU Prog Gems Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
Released in autumn 1972, the third album, a double on vinyl, by this wonderful German band was the quintessence of the best in jazzy progressive rock! I used to think that 'the third one' was weaker than its somewhat more accessible (concise) predecessors, but I was wrong! True, on 'Four Letter' there is more trumpeting, more improvisation (especially in the 50-minute suite filling two sides of the vinyl...) and a little less guitar, but there is no lack of gradually building emotions and the music often genuinely took your breath away! It was still the same band, but playing more difficult material with somewhat greater ease. Compared with Out Of Focus, the better-known bands active at the time and obsessed with the 'fusion' style, such as Soft Machine, Nucleus or most of the Canterbury groups, simply didn't stand a chance! Unfortunately, this was the band's last catalogue album. Almost the whole second disc is filled with unreleased material from the same recording session, released in 2002 on the CD 'Rat Roads', and the last, 10-minute live track from Palermo from 1972 is also included. Excellent sound - slightly clearer than on the old CD editions, and the disc contains a nicer booklet again collecting several rare photos of this splendid band! This double CD lasts as much as 156 minutes! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

CD
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - Live In Lund, Sweden, March 1970 - EU Sweet Leaf Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A limited, small-run 80-minute CD containing a great performance from Lund, Sweden, of 20 March 1970, which after mastering sounds very good, though not perfect (some 20% better than the YouTube versions) - recorded between the albums "Ummagumma" and "Atom Heart Mother". The band played its most popular/best pieces. Fans may know the version of "Interstellar Overdrive" here from the Top Gear double CD "Collection Of Rare LIVE Instrumentals (1969-1971)". This is the PF I love most - still experimental, still charming with its psychedelic sound, but not afraid to 'hit hard' in an almost hard rock way! The band was at the peak of its form then, and at concerts from this period it managed to work out an exceptionally juicy, full sound with incredible parts from Gilmour and Wright. Afterwards (after 1973) it was just not the same... A MUST! (JL)
