Remastered and genuinely fantastic-sounding edition of the excellent debut album, released in 1972, by a Yugoslav, progressive formation. Today it is hard to believe, but in Yugoslavia, dominated by single releases, it was only the second LP (full-length record) of rock music released in that country! A few years earlier only the pop rock debut of Grupa 220 had had that honour. To tell the truth it is hard to define the music of Time, but one can probably risk a comparison with Traffic, Procol Harum, Focus, and even Atomic Rooster on sleeping pills. In addition two great live recordings lasting 23 minutes in total and two tracks from the brand new 1973 single are included. A MUST! -

This is the debut album, from 1972, of the Yugoslav group Time – one of the most important progressive rock bands in the region. The sound is extended and ambitious – long compositions, changing tempos, Hammond organ parts and the expressive vocal of the band's leader, who was Dado Topić. Time were often compared to Western prog rock groups of the early 70s, such as Deep Purple or Blood, Sweat & Tears (although they retained their own, Balkan character). An anniversary edition, new and sealed. -

This tasteful, limited vinyl contains, recorded between summer 1969 and autumn 1970, only on ultra-rare BBC radio promotional vinyls - genuinely fantastic material by a hard rock formation led initially by vocalist Cliff Bennett and guitarist Ken Hensley. The band also featured drummer Lee Kerslake (ex-The Gods - later for 35 years in Uriah Heep). Several tracks (covers) never appeared on the main records, while the rest are here in much better and heavier versions! To tell the truth, this is the kind of guitar playing (the excellent Alan Kendall - later for many years in the band... Bee Gees) that totally drops your jaw! On the 1970 recordings the band reaches the level of Led Zeppelin's best work! 50 minutes in perfect sound quality! This vinyl edition sounds even better than the CD - it has more bass. The black, heavy vinyl plays loud and without crackle! This is an absolute must! Condition: NEW, unsealed. (JL) -

Remastered edition of the debut album, released in 1970 (and worth about 1000 euros in the original in perfect condition - even the reissue from the label Second Battle, from the 90s, is worth 100 euros), by a great German group playing a rather dark variety of progressive rock in the style of Frumpy, Jethro Tull, Out Of Focus, Orange Peel, Julian's Treatment or East Of Eden - with a female vocal. 63 minutes of sophisticated, yet catchy, juicy music with the use of wind instruments (sax, flute). In terms of the instrumental layer it is an impeccable record, though some people have a problem getting used to the voice of the vocalist, who is somewhat reminiscent of Inga Rumpf (of Frumpy). I happen to like that vocal, besides there is not much of it. A classic of German rock - tasting much better after two or three listens! The CD contains a bonus track from a rare German compilation from 1970. Highly recommended! -

A great album! The debut of this Dutch supergroup (a keyboardist from Ekseption, a bassist from Cuby & The Blizzards and a drummer from Focus) belongs to the very canon of European progressive rock. The first track, running to as much as thirteen minutes, is a masterpiece of the art-rock world, resembling the best work of Focus, ELP, Refugee and Yes. I remember that years ago I simply could not tear myself away from this record! Additionally two tracks from the single and the first part of the third LP "White Ladies" (1976). A MUST! -

The second part of the collection of the band's studio and live albums, this time those recorded after Glenn Hughes left for Deep Purple. His vocal duties were taken over by the guitarist Mel Galley, and he and the drummer Dave Holland were joined by the bassist Pete Wright and the second guitarist Rob Kendrick. This line-up produced the studio albums "Hot Wire" from 1974 and "Trapeze" from 1975, on which Hughes sang as a guest on two tracks. On the next record, "Hold On" from 1979, Kendrick's place was taken by Pete Goalby (later in Uriah Heep), who in turn took over from Galley the role of lead vocalist. Terry Rowley also joined on keyboards. Right after the album's release, Dave Holland left for Judas Priest, and was replaced by Steve Bray. This line-up appears on CD5, which is a recording of concerts in Texas, in May 1981. The other two discs are also live albums: "Live At The Boat Club", from Nottingham, from 13 September 1975 (with the line-up: Galley, Kendrick, Wright, Holland, Rowley) and "Live At Arlington, Texas", from the Texas Hall Auditorium in Arlington, from 12 September 1976, when the band returned with the line-up: Hughes, Galley, Holland. The band released three singles (the two earliest of which are available here) and two recordings on classic compilations.
