TRIO - Incantation - Dawn Recordings 1970-1971 (2CD) - UK Esoteric Remastered Edition - LISTEN

Two albums by a progressive-jazz band ("The Trio" from 1970 and "Conflagration" from 1971), made up of the British saxophonist John Surman, the American double bassist Barre Phillips and the American drummer Stu Martin. On the second, guests included Chick Corea, John Marshall (Nucleus, later in Soft Machine), and also the cornetist Marc Charig and trombonist Nick Evans, known for their work with King Crimson. Highly recommended! (MU)
