A double, premiere CD featuring live material from one of the most important British bands of the late 60s. The first disc has only 8 recordings lasting 54 minutes! The performance was recorded in Stockholm in August 1967. Psychedelic, decidedly jam-based, guitar-driven playing that has little in common with their excellent debut and more with the work of Pink Floyd and Cream. The sound quality is very good and, for 1967, almost perfect - the source was the original tape. The second disc is mainly material from 1969 - unfortunately of poorer, rather bootleg quality, but definitely worth hearing. Personally I recommend the freely improvised, 25-minute Grooving - on which Frank Zappa himself played with the band! This is an essential CD for every lover of the late 60s! ONLY ONE COPY! A killer record!!! A limited replica on coloured vinyl of the original British version of the third album, with the sleeve featuring the famous, gender-bending photo of Bowie (the so-called "dress cover"). It is the least known and certainly the most interesting album in the artist's discography. The young Bowie was searching hard, so he finally settled on heavy, progressive playing with plenty of mind-blowing guitar parts by Mick Ronson. A vinyl copy in the original sleeve (like this one) and in perfect condition costs 1000-1200 pounds! The price of this edition on eBay is 50 USD! Recommended to everyone! -

Excellent 70-minute British compilation featuring selected material from the band's three albums, from their third in the discography, "Never Turn Your Back On A Friend", to the fifth LP, "Bandolier". It's just a shame that there are no tracks here from the first two LPs, not even a few... Even so, this CD is an excellent introduction to the work of this criminally underrated Welsh band. A must! Released in 1973, this superb second album from the Australian hard rockers is probably the best in the band's entire discography! A combination of the best of early Black Sabbath and Grand Funk. Great guitar solos, a very heavy sound, powerful vocals. This is one of the top five Australian heavy rock albums! A must! -

An album from 1982 which shows Caravan at a later, more orderly stage of their career – less "out there" now, but still clearly rooted in the atmosphere of the Canterbury scene. "Back to Front" sounds more accessible than the band's classic records, with a distinct turn towards melodic prog rock. Musically it is calmer, elegant and nostalgic material; it no longer has the improvisational freedom of the 70s, but you can still hear the lightness typical of the band and intelligent arrangements. I have known the heavy, uncompromising rock band Cerebrum for about 20 years, ever since I bought a double CD in a shop in Majorca that collected 3 bands that once recorded for the Spanish label Dimension-Ekipo: the only LP by the group Pan Y Regaliz (brilliant!), the only album by the German band Evolution (very good) and 2 excellent singles by the aforementioned Cerebrum. Years later the 4 single tracks appeared on vinyl on the Wah-Wah label, and now, at last, Shadoks has prepared a surprise, combining 3 tracks from the singles with a 5-track session from 1969 recorded for local radio (in very good, though not perfect, quality) and a much longer version of the single "Eagle Death"! The music is very dynamic, guitar-driven, strongly psychedelic and full of mood changes; at times it seems that two bands are playing at once! Highly recommended! -

Hardback, 556 pages. A very good book (in a specially designed, attractive cover!) by a young music fan from Israel, who decided to describe 100 of his favourite, little-known artists/bands active in the years 1968-1976, from all over the world (most of them from the States), from the realm of fairly heavy psychedelic and progressive rock with folk and blues touches. In addition, by special order the author described 4 selected titles from Poland! The book contains black-and-white reproductions of most of the record sleeves, as well as concert adverts and rare clippings from the newspapers of the time (somewhat in the manner of the book 'Galactic Ramble'). So this is a perfect item for Megadisc customers, as this is exactly the kind of records we have been promoting and selling since 1991! Megadisc also has a certain stake in the making of this book, as some time ago I undertook the editorial supervision of this unique publication. A must! Happy reading! Jacek Leśniewski. P.S. CHICAGO - CHICAGO - Chicago VI - EU Rhino - UNIKALNY CD
Chicago's sixth album, from 1973, is the moment when the band finds the perfect balance between ambition and accessibility. You can still hear their jazz-rock roots, but the whole is now clearly more melodic and orderly than the earlier, more expansive, progressive albums. The most important element remains the brass section: trumpets, trombones and saxophones not only decorate the tracks, but often lead the melodies and give them their character. Combined with piano, organ and a tight rhythm section, this produces a full, rich sound that is at the same time very "smooth" to the ear. The guitars take a back seat here, giving way to the arrangements. ONLY ONE COPY! New, sealed. -

Excellent, though sadly the only album by this American trio, who play a dynamic yet very spacious and refined guitar-driven variety of heavy rock with acoustic touches. You can hear the influence of Cream, early Traffic and at moments even Jefferson Airplane. After the band broke up, the drummer appeared on the brilliant LP "Dead Man" by Josefus. A wonderful album (in my opinion one of the best unknown titles from the States), for the original vinyl version of which I paid a fortune a few years ago... A must! (JL) -
