A fantastic album from Japan, originally released in 1972! Takeshi Terauchi is a master of the guitar and in the 60s was a great star of Japanese guitar pop-rock in the style of The Shadows. In 1972 he turned towards heavier rock and with his band recorded the fantastic LP "Rashomon", inspired by Kurosawa's film. It was a combination of psychedelic, heavy rock with surf music and Japanese folk - with the superb sound of heavily overdriven (and clean) guitars in the leading role! On screen it may look strange, but the end result is stunning! "Rashomon" is one of my favourite records from Japan - I have known it since the early 90s, when I received a parcel with CDs by Blues Creation, Speed Glue And Shinki, Far Out and Flower Travellin' Band! A great treat for rock fans looking for something a little different! A must! (JL) -

Tastefully presented American edition, in a 12-page booklet containing, among other things, a reproduction of the vinyl's inner sleeve and plenty of unfamiliar photos. This is a very good, and at times downright sensational, heavily improvised album by a German formation (originating from Trikolon), playing a mixture of organ sounds in the vein of The Nice, Egg and Brian Auger, with swinging, guitar-driven (slightly Purple-esque) improvisations - always against the background of a pulsating, racing rhythm section. The few vocals are in English. This is a record that will delight all lovers of solid German playing from the very beginning of the 70s. The production of the record itself is good, although one has to remember that it was a private pressing. As a bonus, an excellent 14-minute live track has been added - perhaps even better than the album! Highly recommended! (JL) -

Thee Image is an American three-piece band whose members were: the guitarist Mike Pinera (ex-Blues Image and Iron Butterfly), the drummer Donny Vosburgh and the keyboardist Duane Hitchings, who had previously played on, among others, Cactus records. The band's music is heavyish, unfortunately rather average and very "smoothed out" rock with elements of art rock (keyboards). This tastefully released CD contains both of the band's albums. The edition is out of print, we have the last copy! -

Released in a beautiful, gatefold, laminated sleeve (with two nice, large photos inside), a single European, nearly hour-long vinyl, LIMITED TO 500 COPIES, containing excellent-sounding recordings made for British radio in 1971-1973, that is, in the period of the first three albums, with guitarist Eric Bell. The first side contains recordings made almost live in the studio (including a 6-minute, long version of "Whisky In The Jar"), while the second part is a 30-minute, thrilling show for a small audience, with a brilliant version of "The Rocker" and an early version of "Suicide". The sound quality is sensational! The 180-gram black vinyl is perfectly pressed! A must! NEW, not shrink-wrapped. -

Released in a limited edition, a double album featuring BRILLIANT live material recorded between November 1976 and March 1978, during the tours promoting the records "Johnny The Fox" and "Bad Reputation". ATTENTION! This is an alternative "Live And Dangerous", 40 minutes longer and better sounding! None of the tracks appeared on that record (or on the rare LP "Still Dangerous - Philadelphia 1977" released a few years ago), so all the versions are previously unreleased, as they come from other performances. In addition, there are six compositions here that are absent from the 1978 classic ("Soldier Of Fortune", "Johnny", "It's Only Money", "Me And The Boys", "Opium Trail" and "Bad Reputation"). This 118-minute album is perfectly pressed and sounds excellent! A must! Condition: MINT, NEW unsealed. -

Beautifully presented, remastered edition of the second album by Lynott's formation, expanded with nine tracks (singles, other mixes and four great tracks from the BBC). It was decidedly progressive playing that in its own way combined the style of heavy rock with elements of folk and ballad. The album did not sell at all at the time (which is hardly surprising, as that was the norm then for little-known bands), but soon afterwards the situation changed for the better thanks to "Whiskey In The Jar" (here in a nearly 6-minute version).
