THIN LIZZY - Shades Of A Blue Orphanage +9 - UK Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTEN

Beautifully presented, remastered edition of the second album by Lynott's formation, expanded with nine tracks (singles, other mixes and four great tracks from the BBC). It was decidedly progressive playing that in its own way combined the style of heavy rock with elements of folk and ballad. The album did not sell at all at the time (which is hardly surprising, as that was the norm then for little-known bands), but soon afterwards the situation changed for the better thanks to "Whiskey In The Jar" (here in a nearly 6-minute version). Highly recommended! (JL)
