OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – 200 Years After The Last War (LP) - GER MIG Pressprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
A remastered, German 2022 edition. Released in Germany by Bellaphon in 1974, the second, English-language album is among Omega's most outstanding achievements of the seventies and is one of the important achievements of European progressive rock. The band moves away here from its psychedelic roots in favour of monumental, multi-part compositions based on extended parts for Hammond organ, Moog, mellotron and melodic guitar playing. The centrepiece of the album is the nearly twenty-minute "Suite" – an impressive suite of symphonic sweep, smoothly combining atmospheric passages with more dynamic and instrumental ones. A limited edition on 180 g vinyl. A must! -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – Babylon + The Dark Side Of The Earth (+6) - GrundRecords Remastered Editionprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
Babylon is Omega's 13th Hungarian-language studio album, recorded in 1987 in the band's studio, and particularly interesting is the second part of the release – six English-language recordings from the project The Dark Side Of The Earth, which was never officially released at the time as a full album. These are English versions of tracks from Omega's repertoire, recorded in 1986–1987. -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – KonceRt. [Népstadion, 1999] (2CD) - GrundRecords Remastered Editionprice: 140,00 PLN / 35,00 EUR
This is a recording of Omega's second big concert at Budapest's Népstadion, which took place on 4 September 1999. The programme was based above all on tracks from the band's hard rock period, but there were also classic compositions from earlier records and an extended passage from "Szvit". -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – Táncdalfesztivál – Kíséri az Omega együttes +6 - GrundRecords Remastered Editionprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
It is not an Omega album in the classic sense – the band appears above all as a group accompanying popular Hungarian male and female vocalists, and a particularly tasty curiosity is "Yellow Submarine" performed by Péter Kozák – Omega thus gained the opportunity to play material inspired by Western beat music. The record also includes six previously unreleased recordings, marked on the sleeve with an asterisk. -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – The Beaty Sixties - GrundRecords Remastered Digipack Editionprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
The title "The Beaty Sixties" is a little misleading, because not all the recordings come from the 60s. The set also includes English versions of tracks recorded in the early 70s, including material related to the albums Omega III (1974) and 200 Years After the Last War (1974). -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – Time Robber (1976) + Skyrover (1978) (2CD) - GER MIG Music Edition - LISTENprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A 2CD collecting two somewhat later, but probably the most important, English-language albums by Omega from the period of its (relatively) greatest international successes. It is worth knowing that in 1975-1978 the band's records came out not only in Germany, but also in Britain, in several European countries and in North America! "Time Robber" (1976) was characterised by the mighty sound of Moog synthesisers and mellotron and striking guitar parts, which gave the music a monumental, almost symphonic character. "Skyrover" (1978) develops this style, offering more compact compositions, while retaining the space, melodiousness and cosmic atmosphere characteristic of the band. The distinct keyboard parts, dynamic rhythm section and expressive singing of János Kóbor created a coherent whole. Highly recommended! (JL) -

A Hungarian edition, remastered in 2022, of the excellent fifth album released by Pepita in 1973. The centrepiece of the record is the nearly 20-minute 'Suite' – an impressive suite of symphonic sweep, smoothly combining atmospheric passages with more dynamic and instrumental ones. Additionally 2 rare recordings are included. A MUST! (JL) -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA - Hall Of Floaters In The Sky (German 4th Album) - AUT Enigmatic Remastered Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Remastered edition of the fourth European album, released in its day (1975) by West German Bellaphon, as well as by British Decca! No Eastern Bloc band could boast a comparable achievement! The English-language record, adorned with an attractive cover, contained tracks known (in other versions) from the earlier three Hungarian albums and, as is usual for Omega, impressed with a powerful, juicily produced ('wall of sound') dose of progressive rock with heavier elements. On the other hand, you could hear that the group was increasingly heading towards more intricate regions of symphonic rock. It is just a pity that no bonus tracks were added to the CD. Highly recommended! -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA - Skyrover (Omega VIII) - German MIG Music Press - LISTENprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
A German 2022 edition. Originally released in 1978 in several European countries and in America, the English-language LP Skyrover (released in Hungary as Omega 8: Csillagok Útján) is among Omega's most valued albums of the second half of the seventies and forms a bridge between the monumental Időrabló and the groundbreaking Gammapolis. The band develops here its characteristic symphonic-progressive sound, enriching it with even more extended synthesiser parts and subtle electronic textures. The record captivates with a coherent atmosphere, rich arrangements and a skilful combination of melodiousness with progressive sweep. -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – Elo Omega (4CD box) - Hungarian GrundRecords Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 380,00 PLN / 95,00 EUR
The original album, released in 1972, is probably the best title ever recorded by Omega and at the same time among the top five rock albums of Eastern Europe! Made in a silver-foil-covered box, the anniversary 4-disc box set from 2022 contains: CD1 – the remastered album Élő Omega (1972) with additional tracks. CD2 – the original raw mix of the album from 1972. CD3 – a new mix prepared in 2022. CD4 – an amateur live recording from Nyíregyháza from 1972. The price is not low, but the publisher certainly knew that this material is priceless to fans! A MUST! -
LP
OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – Élő Omega – Kisstadion ’77 (2LP) - Hungarian Grund Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 280,00 PLN / 70,00 EUR
A previously unreleased, exceptional document of one of Omega's most important concerts in its classic line-up. The two-record release presents for the first time the complete recording of the performance at Budapest's Kisstadion, showing the band in great form. The concert programme is based mainly on material from the albums "Nem tudom a neved" and "Időrabló", enriched with earlier compositions and the English-language track "Family Strong". On stage Omega impresses with extended parts for organ, Moog synthesisers and mellotron, striking guitar solos and the compact, dynamic playing of the rhythm section. Particular attention is drawn by the extended versions of "A Névtelen Utazó", the suite "Időrabló", "Éjféli Koncert" and the striking instrumental showpieces titled "Szintetizátormutatványok", which are a demonstration of László Benkő's abilities. The recording captures the atmosphere of Omega's concerts of the second half of the seventies, when the group was among the biggest rock stars in Central and Eastern Europe. The gatefold sleeve was printed on special paper, pleasant to the touch. Recommended! -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – Gammapolis (English Version, 1978) & Live At The Kisstadion (1979) (2CD) - German MIG Music Edition - LISTENprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
The two-disc release from the German label MIG Music combines two classic titles from the somewhat later period of Omega's activity. Released first in Germany in the English version, Gammapolis (1978), popular among fans, is an album full of extended compositions, striking synthesiser and mellotron parts and characteristic, melodic guitars, which create a monumental, cosmic sound, combining progressive rock with hard rock energy and catchy themes. Filling CD2, 'Live at The Kisstadion' (1979) was recorded during concerts in Budapest in September 1979 and shows the band in excellent live form, presenting extended versions of pieces, virtuoso instrumental parts and superb cooperation between the musicians. Highly recommended! -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA – Omega (1973) + III (1974) (2CD) - GER MIG Music Edition - LISTENprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A splendid, two-disc, German release from 2022 collecting two (Omega, 1973 and III, 1974) English-language albums made for the West European market and produced for Bellaphon by Peter Hauke - producer of Nektar and many other great progressive bands from Germany. Most of the compositions came originally from the Hungarian records 'Elo Omega' and '5'. Omega showed its characteristic combination of progressive rock, hard rock and melodic space rock, enriching the sound with rich parts for Hammond organ, mellotron and Moog synthesisers. A MUST! OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA - 200 Years After The Last War (German 2nd Album) +8 - AUT Enigmatic Remastered Expanded - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This is a remastered new edition, expanded with eight very rare tracks (from the archive of East German Amiga - practically the whole LP "Elo Omega", in the studio - in German!), of the second "West German", English-language album recorded in an excellent studio under the eye of the experienced producers Peter Hauke and Dieter Dierks (Nektar, Grobschnitt, Message, Scorpions), and released by German Bellaphon in 1974. Most of the material from the studio record appeared on the fifth and sixth albums, though here it sounds much more professional, and the sound quality on this CD is downright thrilling! A must! OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA - Idorablo - Omega 7) +3 - Hungarian GrundRecords Remastered Editon - LISTENprice: 85,00 PLN / 21,25 EUR
A remastered, Hungarian 2022 edition. The album, which appeared in an English-language version ('Time Robber') as early as 1976, and in a Hungarian one ('Idorablo') a year later, is one of Omega's most mature titles from their classic period and at the same time the work on which the band fully developed its symphonic-progressive ambitions. The compositions stand out for their expansive arrangements, dominated by Hammond organ, Mellotron, Moog synthesisers and the melodic guitar parts of György Molnár. An edition in the original Hungarian sleeve. Additionally 3 rare tracks. Highly recommended! -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA - Live In Germany 1975 - ITA Eastern Time - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Brand new Italian CD containing a recording of a superb, 70-minute performance that the band gave in May 1975 in one of the West German cities. Excellent sound quality (probably better than on the catalogue "Elo Omega" and "Kisstadion '79") and slightly better than files available here and there on the internet. The band summed up its early period in a worthy manner, performing several of its best compositions, such as 'Dziewczyna o perłowych włosach' (in Hungarian) or 'Magiczny, biały kamień'! A MUST! -
CD
OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA - Omega (German 1st Album) +9 - AU Enigmatic Remastered - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This is a remastered new edition, expanded with nine rare tracks (including "Dziewczyna o perłowych włosach" in English and German), of the first "West German", English-language album, recorded in an excellent studio under the eye of the experienced producers Peter Hauke and Dieter Dierks (Nektar, Grobschnitt, Message, Scorpions) and released by Bellaphon in 1973. Most of the tracks appeared a year earlier on the LP "Elo Omega", though here they sound much more professional. Listening to Omega one can only wonder about the condition of Polish rock at the time - all that massacred and aimlessly meandering SBB or even a slightly disoriented Niemen... Well, "in the kingdom of the blind the one-eyed man is king"... Plus 9 tracks - including 3 single versions of "Dziewczyna" and German-language tracks from the radio archive. A must! -

OMEGA (HUN) (see also: Locomotiv GT / Neoton) - OMEGA - Trombitas Fredi +7 - HUN Remastered Expanded - LISTENprice: 85,00 PLN / 21,25 EUR
A debut album from 1968! Fans of progressive rock rather do not like this album, but lovers of psychedelia and early folk-rock will adore this record! After getting through the first, rather tragic, vaudeville track, catchy, somewhat Beatles-like music is revealed, with a nice, processed guitar - in no way inferior to most European productions of the time! 7 bonuses. Highly recommended! -

OMNIBUS - OMNIBUS - Omnibus - US Mandala Digipack - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A great, unfortunately only album in the discography (originally released by United Artists in 1969) by an American psychedelic formation playing imaginative rock full of changing moods in the vein of The Doors and Vanilla Fudge (the vocalist at moments sounded very much like Jim Morrison), but with a more heavily overdriven guitar. Three-panel digipak. Highly recommended! (JL)
