McLUHAN - McLUHAN - Anomaly - EU Prog Gems Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, limited, European edition of the only album, released in 1972, by a forgotten American band, playing progressive, jazzy rock (still with psychedelic touches) reminiscent, oddly enough, more of the recordings of British 'horn' bands such as If, Galliard and Walrus than of the American Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears or Chase. The opening 11-minute "The Monster's Bride" is an absolutely brilliant rock classic, full of changing moods and at the same time decorated with wonderful melodic lines. The remaining three tracks (and especially the 3rd and 4th) are hardly inferior to it. An absolute must! (JL) -
MELLOW CANDLE (see also: Flibbertgibbet) - MELLOW CANDLE - Swaddling Songs - UK Esoteric Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
One of the most important and at the same time most interesting records from the British folk-rock circle. A very similar style to the early recordings of Fairport Convention and Trees. The original British vinyl, once released by Deram, is worth (in perfect condition) over 2000 euros - unbelievable! A tasteful, remastered edition from Esoteric. Highly recommended! -

MORGAN (see also: Love Affair / Smile / Queen) - MORGAN - Nova Solis - ITA Black Widow Remastered Limited 180g Press - LISTENprice: 130,00 PLN / 32,50 EUR
A reissue limited to 600 copies of the debut album by a British band with a vocalist (resembling Freddie Mercury in timbre), Tim Staffell - earlier in Smile (pre-Queen) - and with Morgan Fisher - ex-keyboard player of Love Affair and Mott The Hoople. The LP was made in Italy and sounds like it, since art-rock, keyboard moods dominate (no electric guitar), in the style of Refugee, Yes and P.F.M. Only four tracks - including a great, 20-minute suite. Classic, art-rock playing at a high level. New, sealed, no longer in production. Highly recommended! -

MOVING GELATINE PLATES - MOVING GELATINE PLATES - World Of Genius Hans - FRA Replica Press - LISTENprice: 140,00 PLN / 35,00 EUR
The second album - in no way inferior to the debut! The music is still the same, though perhaps more complex - jazzy. Still clear echoes of the work of Supersister and (still... non-existent) Matching Mole. -
MYTHOS - MYTHOS - Mythos - GER Remastered Card Sleeve Edition - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A revelation! Recorded in 1971, this band's debut album decidedly belongs among my favourite German records. Richly arranged, expansive compositions; very juicy sound; plenty of guitars and a brilliant drum sound. If anything, this record can be compared to the style of Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull and East Of Eden - with a pinch of very early Tangerine Dream and Twenty Sixty Six And Then. In the second half of the 70s the band recorded several much weaker records, but the debut belongs to the absolute canon of the genre! A must! A remastered 2022 edition, in a card sleeve. -

NECRONOMICON (GER PROG) - NECRONOMICON - Tips Zum Selbstmord - Guerssen Pressprice: 180,00 PLN / 45,00 EUR
A concept album combining heavy rock with progressive elements - something à la early Uriah Heep with Black Sabbath. Lyrics sung in German. Alongside the debut of Rufus Zuphall and the album by the group Vinegar it is one of the best private pressings in the discography of old German rock. A Guerssen 2023 edition, new, sealed. -
NEKTAR - NEKTAR - A Tab In The Ocean +4 (2LP) - GRE Missing Vinyl Remastered Expanded Press - LISTENprice: 185,00 PLN / 46,25 EUR
The second album in the discography - regarded by most fans as the best of the band's career, although "Journey..." and "Sounds..." are also serious contenders for that title... The first part is filled by an 18-minute suite; the second by five shorter pieces - linked together anyway. The whole closes with "King Of Twilight" - owner of one of the most mighty riffs in the history of rock (once covered with poor results by Iron Maiden). All in all it is a combination of classic progressive rock in the vein of Pink Floyd and Hawkwind, with the guitar fire characteristic of German bands. 2011 remastered Greek edition, with an additional vinyl containing previously unreleased recordings. A MUST! (JL) -
NEKTAR - NEKTAR - Journey To The Centre Of The Eye +8 (2LP) - GRE Missing Vinyl Remastered Expanded Press - LISTENprice: 185,00 PLN / 46,25 EUR
An exquisite debut album, recorded in Germany, from 1971, by one of the best progressive bands from the United Kingdom - combining the style of Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and Hawkwind. "Journey To The Centre Of The Eye" is a 40-minute, multi-threaded suite made up of shorter fragments. 2011 remastered Greek edition, with an additional vinyl containing previously unreleased recordings. A MUST! (JL) -

NEW TROLLS - NEW TROLLS - Searching For The Land - ITA Edition - LISTENprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
A new edition (in a plastic jewel case) of the classic fourth album (1972) by a popular and esteemed Italian progressive band. Originally released as a double vinyl and sung in English, the title contained, as it were, two different titles in one! The first part (record) was dominated by delicate, classical-leaning sounds (including organ, mellotron, choirs) with plenty of acoustic, spacious passages, though not free of dynamic changes (e.g. the 10-minute 'To Edith'). The second, much more rock part, on the other hand, was filled with compositions played live in the studio (with an audience pasted in here and there), almost hard rock, though at times somewhat chaotic, which could easily have found a place on the earlier LP 'Concerto Grosso' (1971) (e.g. 'Bright Lights' or the 18-minute 'Lying Here' closing the whole), inspired by Deep Purple, Jethro Tull and Colosseum. Highly recommended! -
NEW TROLLS - NEW TROLLS - UT - ITA Card Sleeve Edition - LISTENprice: 75,00 PLN / 18,75 EUR
A classic, the fifth album by the once popular Italian progressive band - somewhat more hard-rock than the earlier titles. Highly recommended! Italian reissue in a gatefold cardboard sleeve. -
NEW TROLLS - NEW TROLLS - UT - ITA RED VINYL Limited 180g Pressprice: 140,00 PLN / 35,00 EUR
"UT" by the Italian band New Trolls is the fifth album, released in 1972, considered one of the band's most important achievements in the period of their progressive heyday. The record combines elements of progressive rock, symphonic rock and hard rock, characteristic of the Italian rock progressivo italiano scene of the early 70s. "UT" is one of the most ambitious and at the same time underrated albums of Italian progressive rock. New Trolls present here a sound much rawer and more rock than on their earlier, symphonic projects, while retaining their characteristic care for melody and arrangement finesse. -
