EMBRUJO (see also: Kissing Spell) - EMBRUJO - Embrujo - GER Shadoks Press - LISTEN
A very tastefully produced reissue of a very good 1971 folk-psych-rock album by a Chilean band previously known for the album recorded under the name Kissing Spell. You can hear the influence of The Beatles, very early Traffic and Procol Harum, as well as typical melodic folk-rock from Chile. A very atmospheric album that grows on you after 2-3 listens. Recommended! Condition: NEW - sealed. -

INDIAN SUMMER - INDIAN SUMMER - Rare Live And Studio Tracks 1970-1971 - FRA On The Air Edition - VERY RARE
Limited CD with unreleased studio and live material from the time of the only album by this wonderful progressive band! When 20 years ago I wrote for 'Tylko Rock' a summary of the 40 best progressive/lesser-known albums in my opinion (the so-called 'Parszywa czterdziestka'), Indian Summer's record (1971) took first place there! Incidentally, I still recommend it warmly to this day!!! Unfortunately, the band never recorded anything else, and nothing suggested that any unknown IS music would ever see the light of day! Well... In 2016 Record Collector magazine (once a genuine Bible for record collectors), in cooperation with one of the musicians, put together a double album limited to 500 copies (in a hideously garish cover) containing unreleased archive material and a great many paper archive items! Among other things, four excellent, professional studio recordings from 1970 (including three compositions that did not appear on the catalogue LP), a rejected track from the album sessions, and a very nice, though rather raw, 55-minute concert from December 1970 containing material from the whole album (minus one track), with two recordings extended to 10 minutes! Everything would have been great, the problem is that the performance recorded by the band (of quite good quality) was copied 'one to one' and nobody noticed that the whole thing sounds too slow (a typical problem with recordings from the 60s and 70s) and runs 2 minutes longer! The same tiresome, sloooow mix was repeated a few months later on a Japanese CD. Once again it turned out that they care only about the paper artwork there, and couldn't care less about the quality of the music itself... In any case, this On The Air CD contains the five studio recordings mentioned and the entire performance - AT THE CORRECT SPEED. On top of that, the parameters have been tweaked a little and the concert sounds much clearer and cleaner, although for technical reasons the first two recordings have no vocals... This is an absolute must for all fans of the band and of British prog rock! -

JASPER WRATH (see also: Zoldar & Clark) - JASPER WRATH - Jasper Wrath - SWE Flawed Gems - VERY RARE - LISTEN
First time on CD! To tell the truth, I find it hard to understand how one of the best psych/progressive American albums from the turn of the 60s and 70s had to wait so many years for a CD edition! The only album, originally released by Sunflower/MGM, contains fantastic late-psychedelic, or rather progressive material, close to the work of The Moody Blues, Andwella's Dream and early Renaissance, with a pinch of Jethro Tull and heavy rock. It is an absolutely dream album for every lover of melodic, intelligent and at the same time rousing rock music with numerous changes of mood. A Swedish CD with excellent sound, very faithful to the pure LP! A must! -

NIEMEN - NIEMEN - Człowiek jam niewdzięczny (Czerwony album) (2LP) - POL Press - LISTEN
Niemen's fifth long player (the second recorded with the group Niemen Enigmatic), known as the "red album", went down in history as the first double album of popular music released in Poland. It came out in March 1971, and was recorded at the turn of 1970 and 1971. The musicians taking part were: Jacek Mikuła – Hammond organ, Tomasz Jaśkiewicz – guitar, Janusz Zieliński – bass guitar, Czesław "Mały" Bartkowski – drums. The musicians were accompanied by a vocal trio made up of Krystyna Prońko, Zofia Borca and Elżbieta Linkowska. For the recording of the second record, in January 1971, there were some changes in the line-up: the vocal trio was replaced by the group Partita, and on most of the recordings the drummer is Janusz Stefański. Zbigniew Namysłowski also appeared as a guest, playing flute on a composition of his own. Niemen once again drew on the poetry of Cyprian Norwid: "Aerumnarum plenus" and "Italiam, Italiam". The album also includes the unforgettable "Człowiek jam niewdzięczny", written by Niemen himself. 2014 edition, new, sealed. -

OSIBISA - OSIBISA - Osibisa - UK MCA 1971 1st Press
Super rare, absolutely first British MCA pressing from 1971 (with the beautiful pink-orange vinyl label) in a gatefold sleeve. This is the debut album by a once popular and genuinely great (until 1972) British group (made up exclusively of black musicians from Africa and the Caribbean), combining the style of African ethnic music with the work of Blood Sweat & Tears and early Santana. Beautiful condition. The gatefold, stunning sleeve by Roger Dean (probably his best ever) is in very good condition, with light traces of damp, but no stains and nothing on the colour: EXCELLENT / The record is practically perfect, played maybe 2-3 times: MINT(-) -

OUT OF FOCUS (see also: Sahara) - OUT OF FOCUS - Out Of Focus (2nd Album) - GER Edition - VERY RARE - LISTEN
A brilliant blend of the early Jethro Tull sound with Pink Floyd and a pinch of Colosseum, backed by a very solid rhythm section and an excellent, pleasantly mannered vocal. Released in 1971, this is the second album from the German progressive band. It is slightly more jazzy than the debut, but even more varied and just as fantastic! Both of OOF's earliest albums are the absolute pinnacle of thoroughbred progressive music! CD from Ohrwashl. A must! -

STRAWBS (see also: Yes / Rick Wakeman / Velvet Opera) - STRAWBS - From The Witchwood - UK Remastered
An excellent album: the fourth, and the last with Rick Wakeman on keyboards. The record still had a folk-rock character (at times psychedelic, with sitar), but for the first time the band appeared with a rock line-up, with a full drum kit and electric guitar. This progressive album includes my favourite track by the band, "The Hangman And The Papist". Highly recommended! -
