BEAST (see also: Sugarloaf) - BEAST - Beast (2nd Album) - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! This is the second album by the formation responsible for the sensational, baroque-psychedelic LP from 1969. The second record has a more mature, more rock-oriented and charmingly clear sound - at moments very close to a progressive aesthetic (flute, organ). It is hard to define this music unambiguously - what matters is that there are no bland tracks here. Right after the release of the record the group broke up, and the leader joined the ranks of Sugarloaf. There was a time when I listened to this rare vinyl very often, so I definitely recommend this CD! (JL) -

BEATLES, THE - BEATLES - Let It Be - GERMAN Apple ('dark') 1971 Press - NEAR MINT VINTAGE VINYLprice: 350,00 PLN / 87,50 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! An ultra rare, second German pressing (from 1971) - with a dark green (side 1) and greyish (side 2) apple on the vinyl label and a red apple at the bottom of the back of the sleeve! Additionally, the labels have two (rather than the usual one) rings around the hole. The fully laminated sleeve, printed on thin paper that is white on the inside, is very fresh and shines beautifully, but has a crease on the back: strong EXCELLENT / The record looks unplayed: MINT- -

BIG BERTHA (see also: Bedlam / Rainbow / Procol Harum) - BIG BERTHA - Live In Hamburg December 1970 - FRA On The Air Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A rare, limited CD containing an 80-minute recording of a unique and at the same time very good concert by a heavily forgotten British heavy rock band (with only two singles to its name), with the young drummer Cozy Powell and the talented guitarist Dave Ball (later in Procol Harum). In 1973 the trio (with a vocalist added) turned into Bedlam. Big Bertha played classic, very heavy, heavily improvised rock in the vein of Led Zeppelin, Cream and Mountain. Fans of this kind of playing will be delighted! The sound quality is almost ideal - slightly better than on the earlier (double and unavailable for many years) edition of this title. The booklet contains several very rare photos of the band. Highly recommended! (JL) -

BIG BROTHER (feat. ERNIE JOSEPH) - BIG BROTHER - Confusion - EU Once Again Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Released in 1970 in a strongly psychedelic sleeve, the only album by a great American band playing heavy, slightly bluesy guitar rock, inspired by the Jimi Hendrix Experience and in the vein of the first two Grand Funk albums, the debut of Bloodrock, or the records of the bands Josefus and Jamul. The original vinyl is worth 350-400 euros, so it is certainly worth investing in this CD! A must! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

LP
BLACK SABBATH - BLACK SABBATH - Live In Berlin June 1970 - EU Dead Man Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Released in a beautiful, gatefold, laminated sleeve (inside which are nice, rare, very early photos of the band), a single, EUROPEAN 58-minute vinyl LIMITED TO A MERE 300 COPIES, containing a very early, complete show from Berlin, from June 1970 - recorded two weeks after the end of the sessions for the LP "Paranoid". The sound quality for an 'audience recording' is in my opinion great - coming from a recently found, much better tape than the one from which the earlier CD and LP editions were pressed for years. The record contains, among other things, "Paranoid" with altered (probably forgotten by Ozzy) lyrics, an early version of "War Pigs" with alternative lyrics and an early version of "Black Sabbath" extended by four minutes, with the legendary third verse (withdrawn at the last minute from the debut) about a child watching his mother burning... In addition, previously unreleased, slightly worse (but still good) sounding versions of "Wicked World" and "Fairies Wear Boots". The black vinyl is perfectly pressed! A must for fans of old playing! Condition: NEW, not shrink-wrapped. -
LP
BLACK SABBATH - BLACK SABBATH - Live In Lausanne April 1970 - EU Dead Man Limited Press - VERY RAREprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Released in a beautiful, gatefold, laminated sleeve (inside which are nice, rare, very early photos of the band), a single European 54-minute vinyl, LIMITED TO 500 COPIES, containing a RECENTLY DISCOVERED, very early, complete, 46-minute show from Lausanne in Switzerland, recorded professionally by an employee of a music club. The sound quality is better than very good (with slight distortion here and there...). The record contains, among other things, an early version of "War Pigs" (with the early lyrics), an early version of "Black Sabbath" extended by four minutes (with the legendary third verse) and the superb cover of Eddie Boyd's "Blue Coat Men" that the band played at the time (in the style of very fast, early Ten Years After). In addition, "Paranoid" played live in the studio on British TV and a brilliant version of "Blue Suede Shoes" from German Beat-Club have been included. Both bonus tracks are in perfect quality. The black vinyl is perfectly pressed! A must! Condition: NEW, not shrink-wrapped. -

BLACK SABBATH - BLACK SABBATH - Live In Lausanne April 1970 - Complete Show - SPA Top Gear Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Released in an attractive sleeve, limited to 500 copies, a European 80-minute CD containing a very early (recorded two months after the release of the debut), full Black Sabbath performance from Lausanne in Switzerland, professionally recorded by a club employee. The sound quality is great, though not ideal (with slight distortion here and there...). The biggest attraction of this CD is the ONLY KNOWN LIVE INTERPRETATION of the track "Sleeping Village" and a 32-minute version of the legendary "Warning". The disc also contains a superb cover of Eddie Boyd's "Blue Coat Men", played by the band at the time (in the style of very fast, early Ten Years After); an early version of "War Pigs" (with unfinished lyrics) and an early version of "Black Sabbath" extended by four minutes (with the legendary third verse). The quality of the remastered CD is much better than the muffled sound on YouTube. An absolute must! -
CD
BLACK SABBATH - BLACK SABBATH - Live In Montreux 1970 - SPA Top Gear Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Brilliant, fan-club Spanish CD, containing a 43-minute recording of the fantastic concert that took place in August 1970 at the casino in Montreux - the same one immortalised by Deep Purple in "Smoke On The Water". The band was just about to release the LP "Paranoid", hence, as a result of Ozzy's amnesia, "War Pigs" and "Iron Man" had changed lyrics. The band was in excellent form, and the quality of the sound, taken from the mixing desk, is almost ideal! This is the best-sounding Sabbath performance recorded in 1970-1974 - even slightly clearer than the famous concert from Paris (and in fact from Brussels) from 1970 and the one from March 1973 released on the LP "Live At Last". That is worth appreciating! Besides, the disc contains over 35 minutes of additional material! Four tracks made for the BBC in April 1970 (including the three-minutes-longer than the original "Black Sabbath" - containing an additional, unknown third verse, then "Behind The Wall Of Sleep" with a great, heavy jazz rock ending and "War Pigs" with alternative lyrics - all with corrected speed, that is, slightly sped up), two tracks made in summer 1969 under the name Earth (including the excellent "I'm A Rebel") and finally the phenomenal version of "Blue Suede Shoes" recorded live in the studio by the Beat-Club crew. The CD has been adorned with several very nice photos from the earliest period. A must! (JL) -

BLACK SABBATH - BLACK SABBATH - Paranoid (2CD) - UK Deluxe Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
A sensational second album - considered by many the band's greatest achievement. Without doubt this record, released in 1970 (like the debut), belongs to the absolute classics of heavy rock/heavy metal, containing killers such as "War Pigs", "Iron Man", the title track "Paranoid", "Electric Funeral", or the splendid "Hand Of Doom", as well as the beautiful ballad "Planet Caravan"! A must! -

Brilliant compilation (now on better, black vinyl) from the French label Verne, released in a superb cover taken from the photo session for the LP "Paranoid" and gathering nearly 60 minutes of rarities from the earliest period of Iommi and co. Released in an (old-style) laminated LP sleeve, it contains two tracks made under the name Earth (including the excellent "I'm A Rebel"), four tracks made for the BBC in April 1970 (with the three-minutes-longer "Black Sabbath" - with an additional, unknown verse (!!!) and a slightly altered "War Pigs" - all with corrected speed, that is, slightly sped up) and finally four tracks recorded live in the studio by Beat-Club (including a phenomenal version of "Blue Suede Shoes"). The whole thing is of very good quality! A MUST! Condition: NEW, unsealed. -

BLACK SABBATH - BLACK SABBATH - Live In Brussels 1970 - FRA Verne Limited RED VINYL Press - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A RED VINYL limited to 500 copies, beautifully released (laminated sleeve with nice, rare photographs of the band) containing what is in my opinion Black Sabbath's best concert of their entire career, since the band played somewhat harder than on the first two records but just as precisely! A classic, 52-minute performance from Brussels at the Theatre 140 on 3 October 1970 - also known from the excellent video and the classic CD "Come To The Sabbath". For years it was believed to be a recording from December 1970 from Paris, but years later it is known 100% that it is Brussels! Almost ideal sound quality - even better than on the aforementioned CD and better than on the earlier version from the Far Out label! An indispensable item for every serious fan of heavy playing! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: NEW, unsealed. -

BLACK WIDOW (see also: Cressida / Pesky Gee) - BLACK WIDOW - Sacrifice - Live On Stage 1970 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A limited, black vinyl from the French label Verne, containing a complete recording of a 56-minute show on German television (Beat-Club), from May 1970, by the British progressive band, presenting the whole of the excellent debut album "Sacrifice" from March 1970 - and in a heavily extended and slightly altered form at that! And that laminated sleeve... is genuinely strong! Very good pressing and great sound. A must! Condition: NEW, not shrink-wrapped. (JL) -

BLACK WIDOW (see also: Cressida / Pesky Gee) - BLACK WIDOW - Sacrifice + Live At Beat-Club 1970 (2CD+DVD) - GER Repertoire Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A three-disc German reissue (2CD + DVD) of the sensational debut album by the British band, released in March 1970, containing plenty of progressive playing (guitar, organ, saxophone, flute, numerous changes of mood) in the vein of early Jethro Tull and Atomic Rooster. The DVD contains a recording of a 60-minute show on German television (Beat-Club), where the band played the entire album "Sacrifice" in full - and in a heavily extended form at that! The DVD picture is black and white, but nicely restored. The spectacle itself (without an audience) is genuinely fascinating - including a dancing, naked girl who is sacrificed at the end... A must! (JL) -

BLACK WIDOW (see also: Cressida / Pesky Gee) - BLACK WIDOW - Black Widow (2nd Album) - UK Repertoire Press - LISTENprice: 130,00 PLN / 32,50 EUR
Released at the end of 1970, the band's second album (once released by CBS). Perhaps somewhat weaker than the superb debut "Sacrifice" (same style), although still perfectly suited to a fairly extensive prog rock collection. 2021 edition. (JL)
