On two tracks (including the splendid, hit 'La Poupe Qui Fait Non') Jimmy Page (guitar) and John Paul Jones (bass) appear, 2 years before the debut of Led Zeppelin! "A difficult third album". The least successful of them all - as if the band did not know which direction to follow - to play ambitious, at times even orchestrated pop (as the label demanded), or to follow psychedelia... All in all it is not bad to listen to (it is still The Pretties, after all!). Several recordings are absolutely first-rate, although the next one in the discography - "S.F. Sorrow" - was a completely different kettle of fish! An edition in a digipak, from 2019, extended by seven recordings. -

This British CD contains the first two albums (a great debut, the 'second' so-so...) by one of the most underrated folk artists of the turn of the 60s and 70s! Tim Rose is an American artist (recording mainly in the British Isles), who in 1966 arranged the classic "Hey Joe" as a ballad (and it was precisely his arrangement that Jimi Hendrix took over), then co-wrote the cult song "Morning Dew" (performed by seemingly every rock band...), and then revived on his 1967 debut the ballad "Come Away Melinda" - also known from many performances. Unfortunately Tim never gained even a pinch of popularity! Highly recommended! -

An excellent album - recorded already without Van Morrison, produced by Kim Fowley and released under the oh-so-misleading title... "Them" - but under the banner of Belfast Gypsies. Very dynamic rhythm'n'blues/freakbeat with an admixture of early psychedelia. A two-record edition (2LP). The second LP contains, among other things, the demo "I Want You" from February 1966, an early version of "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue", as well as an alternative mix of "People! Let’s Freak Out ", which was released (without the band's knowledge) by Island under the name Freaks Of Nature. A revelation! (JL) New, sealed.
