LP
LEAF HOUND (see also: Atomic Rooster / Cactus) - LEAF HOUND - Growers Of Mushroom - UK Repertoire Remastered 180g Press - LISTENprice: 130,00 PLN / 32,50 EUR
A remastered reissue from Repertoire Records, modelled on the British original. Adorned with a brilliant cover, a great album, though until a certain point almost unknown, once released by Decca. Uncompromising, heavy rock built on catchy guitar riffs and backed by the superb vocals of Pete French (later in Atomic Rooster and Cactus), in the vein of Free (on steroids), Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. The original British LP (once released in only 500 copies) is worth over 12 000 pounds today! New, sealed. A MUST! (JL) -

CD
LED ZEPPELIN - LED ZEPPELIN - Live At The Royal Albert Hall, January 1970 (2CD) - SPA Top Gear Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 85,00 PLN / 21,25 EUR
A rare, limited, double CD containing a recording of, in my opinion, the best concert of the band's career, which took place on 9 January 1970 at London's Royal Albert Hall. Probably every fan knows this material (which came out on the band's official DVD), but it is worth noting that this compact disc edition contains two unreleased fragments: a sensational "Heartbreaker" (unfortunately faded out abruptly after four minutes due to a broken tape) and the closing, 7-minute "Long Tall Sally". The sound quality is stunningly excellent - 10-15% better than on the official DVD. In addition, superb remastered material from Danish television, from March 1969, has been included. 150 minutes of top-shelf live Led Zeppelin! An absolute must! (JL) -

LEŚNIEWSKI, JACEK - JACEK LEŚNIEWSKI - BRYTYJSKI ROCK w latach 1961-1979 - Przewodnik płytowy - TOM 1 (A-F) + AUTOGRAF AUTORAprice: 229,00 PLN / 57,25 EUR
Writing the first volume (A-F) of the record guide to British rock took me nearly 3 years, but it was probably worth it! On 520 COLOUR pages I have included over 1000 record reviews (often track by track) of as many as 360 artists active in the British Isles in the 60s and 70s. Printed on thick, coated paper, the book contains as many as 1700 colour reproductions (6cm by 6 cm) of the covers of original LPs, singles, EPs and CDs, as well as scans of first-edition vinyl labels only for selected releases (Vertigo, Harvest, Island, Deram etc). Additionally, at the end of each entry I have included full discographies (up to and including 1979) of catalogue albums (the A and B sides of all singles appear in the text instead), and I have also listed the more important CDs with archive material. I wrote this book for myself too, so I really put my back into it! Oh, and I have rated every title subjectively (on a scale of 1-10) - which can be very useful when hunting for records. If anyone would like a signature/dedication - I will gladly do it! We do not send the book together with records, as it is hard to pack them safely together. WHEN BUYING BOTH VOLUMES - FREE SHIPPING! AND ONE MORE NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: In November 2026 the third volume of British Rock, 2/3 complete, will finally reach the shops! Note! The print run of the second volume is slowly running out, so that nobody can say they regret it later :-) -

LEŚNIEWSKI, JACEK - JACEK LEŚNIEWSKI - BRYTYJSKI ROCK w latach 1961-1979 - Przewodnik płytowy - TOM 2 (G-J) + AUTOGRAF AUTORAprice: 279,00 PLN / 69,75 EUR
Fifteen years have passed since the first volume was published. It is a fact that is hard to argue with, or to find anything in my defence... It is very likely that I came close to a world record for the length of the wait for the continuation of a series, and perhaps I should apply to the Guinness Book of Records myself :-) OK, joking aside... I am genuinely sorry that with such a long wait, full of missed deadlines, to put it colloquially, I 'overdid it' and disappointed legions of fans of top-quality rock, and for this I genuinely and sincerely apologise! The second volume probably was not worth waiting a full 15 years for, but I confess that it is the best writing of my life! I wrote the book, which runs to nearly 700 pages, completely anew in the last 18 months! On exactly 688 COLOUR pages (that is 168 more than in the first volume) I included over 1000 record reviews (this time mostly track by track!) of as many as 250 artists active in the British Isles in the 60s and 70s. Additionally I added the most important, concise information on the artists' careers, line-up changes and sometimes even an anecdote... Generally, the second volume is a little more narrative than its predecessor and not just a plain 'no frills' description of records. So I devoted 36 pages to Genesis, 24 pages to Jimi Hendrix, 23 each to Jethro Tull and The Hollies, 19 to Elton John, 17 pages to Hawkwind, and even The Incredible String Band took up 11 pages and Henry Cow over 4... Printed on thick, coated paper, the book contains nearly 2400 specially selected colour reproductions (6 cm by 6 cm) of the covers of original LPs, singles, EPs and CDs, as well as scans of only the first editions of selected vinyl labels. Additionally, at the end of each entry I included complete discographies (up to and including 1979) of catalogue albums (the A and B sides of all the singles appear in the text, however) and also listed the more important CDs with archive material. The more popular artists are covered up to the end of the 80s - with photographs of catalogue records and sometimes even singles! In some cases I covered important titles from the significant year 1980 - track by track. Oh, and I rated every title subjectively (on a scale of 1-10) - which can be very useful when hunting for records. If anyone would like a signature/dedication - I will do it with pleasure! We do not send the book together with records, as it is difficult to pack them together safely. 'Brytyjski Rock' is available only at Megadisc and from the Kagra publishing house and will not be available at Empik or in any other bookshop! AND ONE MORE NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: In November 2026 the third volume of British Rock, 2/3 complete, will finally reach the shops! Attention! The print run of the second volume is slowly running out, so that nobody can say they will regret it later :-) Enjoy the reading! JACEK LEŚNIEWSKI -

LIGHT OF DARKNESS - LIGHT OF DARKNESS - Light Of Darkness - EU Once Again Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, remastered and for years unavailable reissue of the only album, released by Philips in 1971, by the group Light Of Darkness. The band offered a very interesting and all in all original combination of heavy blues rock, early hard rock and elements of progressive rock. Although the group was formed by Scottish musicians active in Hamburg, their sound clearly refers to the British scene of the turn of the 60s and 70s. Echoes of Edgar Broughton Band and early Uriah Heep could be heard, but without simply copying either of those bands. A great virtue of the record was its raw energy. The band moved freely from heavy guitar riffs to more atmospheric, bluesy passages, enriched with organ, piano, flute and violin parts, as well as a characteristic, somewhat rough vocal. One could say that the musicians went more for spontaneity and atmosphere than for technical virtuosity. Special mention goes to the 10-minute Soul Francisco from the repertoire of the American folk musician Tony Joe White. The album will delight all lovers of heavy, bluesy playing with a distinct progressive bent. Highly recommended! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

LIVING DAYLIGHTS (see also: Greatest Show On Earth / Leon Paul-Phillips / Fuzzy Duck) - LIVING DAYLIGHTS - Let's Live For Today - Complete Recordings - UK Grapefruit Expanded MONO + STEREO Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The first-ever release of an album by a cult psychedelic band, led by Garth Watt-Roy (among others Greatest Show On Earth, Fuzzy Duck, Steamhammer, as well as a solo record under the pseudonym Leon Paul-Phillips) and his younger brother, Norman (Greatest Show On Earth, Ian Dury & The Blockheads). Unfortunately the release of the record depended on the success of the first two singles, and these did not "conquer" the charts. It has finally been achieved now, and the British, American and Japanese singles have been added to the mono and stereo versions. Highly recommended! (MU) -
CD
LODESTONE (see also: Flies / T2) - LODESTONE - Time Flies - UK Explore Rights Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
For the first time on CD! Lodestone is a British band playing progressive rock with psychedelic influences, in the vein of Procol Harum, The Nice or the Moody Blues, and even The Beatles. Their music was dominated by organ and also a rich use of orchestra. The band was formed on the initiative of the producer Tony Atkins, and its line-up included musicians known mainly from the freakbeat scene. Unfortunately "Time Flies" was released only in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. -

LOS SHAKERS - Los Shakers - Los Shakers / Break It All (2LP) - Guerssen Records Editionprice: 140,00 PLN / 35,00 EUR
The Uruguayan group Los Shakers (1965) is one of the best examples of global "Beatlemania" - Los Shakers were even called "the Latin American Beatles". Their dynamic music sounds at moments like a faithful copy of the early Beatles, but it is not mindless imitation. The band's greatest strength is its melodies – light, instantly ear-catching, with very good vocal harmonies and a clean guitar sound. -

An excellent complement to the discographic albums! -

LUCIFER'S FRIEND (see also: Electric Food / Asterix) - LUCIFER'S FRIEND - Banquet +1 - UK Repertoire Records Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The band's fourth album, from 1974. Decidedly more jazz-rock, recorded with a 30-piece orchestra. -

LUIGI ANA DA BOYS - LUIGI ANA DA BOYS - Feeling The Ceilling - SPA Sommor Remastered Limited Press - LISTENprice: 145,00 PLN / 36,25 EUR
From the publisher's information: "An album recorded at a local studio in Leeds and released by a private label in 1978 (but sounding more like 1970), a wonderful example of British hard rock/heavy prog in the same spirit as Wishbone Ash or Thin Lizzy, dominated by killer twin-guitar attacks. A band with roots in the pub rock scene of West Yorkshire and led by the excellent guitarist Duncan McFarlane." Remastered 2023 edition, on black vinyl. -

LUV MACHINE - LUV MACHINE - Luv Machine +2 - EU Once Again Expanded Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A reissue, in the original, controversial sleeve (no major label would let this project through today...), of the only album, recorded in 1971, by a totally forgotten British hard rock band (two white Englishmen + two Barbadians) - very rare, but excellent. The album was filled with riffing hard rock tracks (though drenched in a psychedelic or progressive sauce) in the vein of Horse, Incredible Hog, Stray or Leaf Hound. The original Polydor vinyl in MINT- condition is worth 700-800 euros today, so it is certainly worth taking an interest in this perfectly sounding reissue! Additionally included are the B-side of the band's only single (1970) and an unreleased track from 1971. Highly recommended! (JL) -

LYNX - LYNX - Missing - CAN Unidisc Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
This band, formed in 1973 and from Toronto, released three albums between 1976 and 1979, but only the first, recorded with the original line-up and also the strongest title, deserves to be remembered. "Missing", made in late autumn 1976 for the Quality label, which shied away from heavy sounds, contained a rather eccentric combination of hard rock, pop music, rock and roll and gentle progressive rock. -
CD
MACKAY, DUNCAN (see also: Camel / Cockney Rebel) - DUNCAN MACKAY - Chimera +1 - US Digipack Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Originally released (and recorded) only in South Africa, a great progressive album from 1974 and at the same time the solo debut of the keyboardist, originally from Great Britain, known in later years from records by Camel, Cockney Rebel, Kate Bush (the first three) and Budgie, among others. The album, once released by Vertigo (and now worth about 200 euros), combined the style of Refugee, Morgan and early Wakeman. Three long compositions based on all sorts of keyboard sounds (with a rhythm section, of course) and fortunately without tedious longueurs. This is top-shelf art rock! After arriving in Great Britain Mackay played on records by artists such as Baker Gurvitz Army, Colosseum II, Cockney Rebel, Kate Bush, Camel, Budgie and the Alan Parsons Project. Digipak edition, with an additional 7-minute, previously unreleased track! Highly recommended! (JL) -
CD
MAD CURRY (see also: Shampoo) - MAD CURRY - Mad Curry +2 - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Together with Laurelie, Waterloo and Irish Coffee, the formation Mad Curry belonged to the pioneering group of progressive formations that appeared in Belgium at the very end of the 60s. Originally released in the form of a poster folding out "into six", the band's only album contained jazzy, still slightly psychedelic, fairly melodic, but already decidedly progressive playing typical of that period (1969-1970), based on the interplay of saxophone, flute and Hammond organ (but without guitar) - modelled above all on the work of early Van Der Graaf Generator and Brian Auger with Julie Driscoll and the Trinity. Mad Curry's vocalist was somewhat reminiscent of the then very popular Julie, although personally I would sooner compare her to Carol Grimes (of Delivery) and to the vocalist of Julian's Treatment. In addition two tracks from the only single, released before the album was made, are included. This is an obligatory item for all fans of old, European sounds from the turn of the decades. Highly recommended! -
CD
MAGNA CARTA - MAGNA CARTA - Seasons - JAP Vertigo Remastered Limited Editionprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
An English band performing delicate, folk-progressive, mainly acoustic music. On "Seasons" - Rick Wakeman played organ on the 20-minute, pastoral suite. Remastered 2021 Japanese edition, in a traditional jewel case. -
LP
MAINHORSE AIRLINE (see also: Mainhorse / Patrick Moraz / Spooky Tooth) - MAINHORSE AIRLINE - Geneva Tapes 1969-1970 (Unreleased 1st Album) - FRA Verne Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
SENSATIONAL! This limited, French vinyl contains progressive material, unreleased in its day and not released until 2007, for the first album by the group Mainhorse Airline planned for 1970 - with Moraz, Ristori and Graham - and with David Kubinec (ex-World Of Oz) on vocals! Most of the compositions, in considerably altered (less psychedelic!) versions, appeared a year later (in 1971) on the classic Mainhorse album released by Polydor. Besides that, there are several unreleased compositions here! This 54-minute material was transferred originally from several acetates (trial, very delicate vinyls), yet the sound quality is almost ideal (better, cleaner than on the CD!) - only occasionally can you hear slight hiss. It is worth paying attention to the wonderful cover by Roger Dean! Quite deservedly it is an essential item for every lover of early progressive rock! The black vinyl sounds loud and noise-free. A MUST! Condition: NEW, but unsealed.
