PRETTY THINGS - PRETTY THINGS - Electric Banana Sessions (1967-1969) - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A remastered, 52-minute vinyl edition of the best material (alongside "S.F. Sorrow" from 1968) that The Pretty Things ever recorded, though originally under the name... Electric Banana! In 1967-1969 the band, which never complained of an excess of cash, recorded a series of records (one 10-inch - together with recordings by other artists - and two albums) for the music library label de Wolfe. On the first sides of the monophonic vinyl records the versions with vocals were placed, and on the second sides - instrumental tracks only. These recordings later appeared as music illustrating television programmes, low-budget British films, and so on. In any case, none of these records ever went on sale (they are now in great demand and worth 250-300 each in the original), and what is more, they were released under the name Electric Banana (the band's real name, May and Taylor, was never mentioned)... It is not hard to guess that the band was then at the peak of its form, and tracks such as "Alexander", "Eagle's Son" or "Blow Your Mind" (from the LP "Even More Electric Banana" from 1969) even surpass the legendary "S.F. Sorrow"! Additionally three instrumental versions are included. Great sound! An absolute must! NEW, sealed. (JL) -
PRETTY THINGS - PHILLIPE DEBARGE with THE PRETTY THINGS - Rock St. Trop - UK Madfish 180g Press - LISTENprice: 130,00 PLN / 32,50 EUR
An excellent, hard-psychedelic album, recorded in 1969 by a French millionaire dreaming of a career as a musician - Phillipe DeBarge, accompanied by the group Pretty Things, then (between the records "S.F. Sorrow" and "Parachute") at the peak of its form. The material only came out in 2009. The music is sensational; somewhat more acoustic than the decidedly rock, psychedelic masterpiece from 1968, but almost as excellent! There is overdrive here, Hammonds, Mellotron, vocal harmonies typical of PT. A 2017 British reissue, on 180-gram vinyl. Sealed. Highly recommended! -
PRETTY THINGS - PRETTY THINGS - Electric Banana Sessions (1967-1969) - AU Enigmatic Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Edition, expanded with instrumental tracks and lasting exactly 80 minutes, of the best (alongside S.F. Sorrow from 1968) material that the group The Pretty Things ever recorded! It is a long story, so in brief... In 1967-1969 the group, which never suffered from an excess of cash, recorded a series of records (one 10-inch - together with recordings by other artists - and two albums) for the music library label de Wolfe. On the first sides of the monophonic vinyls were versions with vocals, and on the second sides - only instrumental tracks. These recordings later appeared as musical illustration in television programmes, low-budget British films and so on. In any case, none of these records ever went on sale (they are now much sought after) and, what is more, they were released under the name Electric Banana (the band's real name was never mentioned)... It is not hard to guess that the band was at the peak of form at the time, and tracks such as Alexander, Eagle's Son or Blow Your Mind (from the LP Even More Electric Banana of 1969) outshine even the legendary S.F. Sorrow! As I already mentioned, the instrumental tracks (mixed in with the vocal versions) have appeared on CD for the first time and this is the best-sounding and most complete edition of "Electric Banana" ever released! To write "an absolute must" is not enough! -

PRETTY THINGS - PRETTY THINGS - Emotions +7 - UK Madfish Expanded Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
"A difficult third album". The least successful of them all - as if the band did not know which direction to follow - to play ambitious, at times even orchestrated pop (as the label demanded), or to follow psychedelia... All in all it is not bad to listen to (it is still The Pretties, after all!). Several recordings are absolutely first-rate, although the next one in the discography - "S.F. Sorrow" - was a completely different kettle of fish! An edition in a digipak, from 2019, extended by seven recordings. -

A remastered, British edition in a digipak (and, importantly, in the original, British sleeve) of the excellent, second album containing, like the debut, a huge dose of stunning rhythm'n'blues, next to which the Stones sound almost like choirboys... PRETTY THINGS - PRETTY THINGS - Live At The BBC 1964-1974 (2LP) - UK Repertoire 180g Pressprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
An excellent, official double compilation of radio sessions (on Repertoire) by the most underrated band in the history of rock, from the classic period of 1964-1975 (the vast majority from 1965-1971). The psychedelic, almost hard rock material from 1967-1971 (sides 2 and 3) is in my opinion top-shelf rock! The whole in excellent sound quality. (JL) -

PRETTY THINGS - PRETTY THINGS - Parachute +6 - UK Madfish Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A sensational, though until now slightly underrated by me album! In keeping with the spirit of the times, in 1970 the Pretties set off into somewhat more progressive regions, combining the classic (a little acoustic, a little psychedelic) sound of the brilliant 1968 LP "S.F. Sorrow" with early, ambitious hard rock. The result was an excellent, rock, conceptual album (once released by Harvest) which, like every record 'with a key', pleases more and more with every subsequent listen. The American magazine Rolling Stone chose this LP 'album of the year 1970' - it is always some kind of recommendation, isn't it? Additionally six recordings from three great singles from 1970 are included with the CD. An absolute, though still underrated here, canon of classic rock. A remastered edition in a digipak, extended by six tracks. Buy it blind! (JL) -
PRETTY THINGS - PRETTY THINGS - Pretty Things +6 - UK Madfish Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
The excellent debut of one of the ten most important (and certainly most influential) British bands of the 60s. Classic, dirty, rhythm'n'blues playing in the style of the earliest Stones and the debut of the Downliners Sect. A British reissue in a digipak, with six bonus tracks. -
PRETTY THINGS - PRETTY THINGS - S.F. Sorrow +4 - UK Madfish 2023 Remastered Expanded Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
I state with full responsibility that the LP "S.F. Sorrow", released in November 1968, is one of the five best (and at the same time most underrated) records in the HISTORY OF ROCK!!! I implant the "S.F. Sorrow" virus in whomever I can - the quintessence of psychedelic rock that is at the same time full of incredible emotion... Besides the album, the CD contains four recordings from mind-blowing, psychedelic singles! 2023 edition. A MUST!!! -
