A rare, limited, double CD containing a recording of, in my opinion, the best concert of the band's career, which took place on 9 January 1970 at London's Royal Albert Hall. Probably every fan knows this material (which came out on the band's official DVD), but it is worth noting that this compact disc edition contains two unreleased fragments: a sensational "Heartbreaker" (unfortunately faded out abruptly after four minutes due to a broken tape) and the closing, 7-minute "Long Tall Sally". The sound quality is stunningly excellent - 10-15% better than on the official DVD. In addition, superb remastered material from Danish television, from March 1969, has been included. 150 minutes of top-shelf live Led Zeppelin! An absolute must! (JL) -

Limited, fan-club, two-disc CD containing a surprisingly good-sounding (compared with the old vinyls from the 70s and CDs from the late 80s), 140-minute Led Zeppelin concert from 4 September 1970, from the tour promoting the third album. The band was at the peak of form, still unsated, so the music was stunning! This is an absolute classic! The playing is frenzied, the set of tracks fantastic, including the only known live performance of "Out Of The Tiles" and the standard "Blueberry Hill"! In addition two bonus tracks, including one of the two existing live performances of "Gallows Pole" and a unique medley of three rock'n'rolls! This is the best-sounding version of this performance ever released! A MUST! (JL) -

Fan-club Spanish CD, limited to 500 copies, containing a superb, full 52-minute performance by the Zeps, played before a club audience of a few dozen people, at the beginning of January 1969 (and containing, among other things, several rare covers, including "For Your Love", known from only two performances!!!) - literally a day before the release of the debut album in the States! It is an 'audience recording', but the sound quality is great - almost ideal, only with a slightly distant vocal! In addition several excellent bonus tracks of studio quality - attention - several tracks from the sessions for the debut album and the NEVER RELEASED (also on the recent reissue), studio "Sugar Mama" from the sessions for the second album!!! Released in a run of 500 copies, a limited CD containing 80 minutes of excellent material with perfect sound quality! First of all, the disc contains an excellent show by the band from the Fillmore West on 24 April 1969, taken from the mixing desk (soundboard) (not to be confused with the two-hour, different recording from 27 April)! It is a complete recording - there is no more material from this show. The sound quality is stunningly good, only Plant's vocal has been moved slightly to the back, but since most of the material is rather instrumental, the problem is barely noticeable. The track 'Pat's Delight' is an instrumental piece serving as the starting point for a drum solo - soon afterwards the band began playing 'Moby Dick'. The 20-minute 'As Long As I Have You' is a dynamic and fiery compilation of several 'covers', including 'Fresh Garbage' by Spirit - a band that Jimmy Page supposedly never heard at the time - at least that is what the guitarist claimed during the recent trial over the rights to 'Stairway To Heaven' and... he won! As a bonus, 2 tracks recorded 3 days later in the same venue are included: the 7-minute Sittin' and Thinkin' (an almost unknown but excellent blues from the repertoire of Buddy Guy in the style of You Shook Me) and the superb 20-minute, very extended version of How Many More Times - full of unexpected twists and dynamic improvisations. Fan-club CD containing a brilliant, 78-minute concert of excellent quality - recorded at the Olympia in Paris in October 1969 - just before the release of the second album. The sound quality is ideal because it reportedly comes from the original master tape. Attention! In June this material came out in an official form as a 71-minute additional disc added to the anniversary "deluxe" version of the first album. Of course I encourage you to buy the Warner two-disc version, but it is worth knowing that the official version has been somewhat cut (it lasts 71 minutes), furthermore "How Many More Times" has been shortened by as much as 11 minutes - that is, by half, while "Moby Dick" has been added in its place... Either way - this CD has on the front a beautiful cover (known from the Austrian edition of the LP "Led Zeppelin II", worth 500 euros) and several great photos from the period! It is certainly an excellent supplement to the official version of the debut!!! A MUST! (JL) Condition: sealed -

Please ignore the late date! In Spain many important and beautiful records appeared in 1975-79. The first (and best) album by this heavy-rock (slightly bluesy) group contains very dynamic music with a heavy, guitar sound. Long tracks (6-7 minutes each) with a dense texture predominate. The good old sound, as in 1972-74! And the instrumental miniature "Se Acabo" that closes the record is the most beautiful piece for classical guitar I have heard in my life! A must! -

A new, remastered and for years unavailable reissue of the only album, released by Philips in 1971, by the group Light Of Darkness. The band offered a very interesting and all in all original combination of heavy blues rock, early hard rock and elements of progressive rock. Although the group was formed by Scottish musicians active in Hamburg, their sound clearly refers to the British scene of the turn of the 60s and 70s. Echoes of Edgar Broughton Band and early Uriah Heep could be heard, but without simply copying either of those bands. A great virtue of the record was its raw energy. The band moved freely from heavy guitar riffs to more atmospheric, bluesy passages, enriched with organ, piano, flute and violin parts, as well as a characteristic, somewhat rough vocal. One could say that the musicians went more for spontaneity and atmosphere than for technical virtuosity. Special mention goes to the 10-minute Soul Francisco from the repertoire of the American folk musician Tony Joe White. The album will delight all lovers of heavy, bluesy playing with a distinct progressive bent. Highly recommended! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

On CD for the first time outside Japan and also for the first time in the original, black cover! Released in 1980, the only, almost forgotten and in my opinion almost perfect album by this British formation is usually counted as part of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, though in truth it is simply heavy, almost progressive playing strongly inspired by the work of Led Zeppelin, Rush, Rainbow/Deep Purple, and also Yes! Besides the traditional set of instruments the trio also used wonderful mellotron sounds, which can be heard on the two longest tracks (8 minutes each) and is another reason to buy this superbly recorded CD! In addition four tracks from very good, rare singles are included. Highly recommended! (JL) -

This is one of my favourite unknown British albums of the late 60s! The only, almost progressive record by a British trio combined elements of early, experimental hard-rock in the vein of Cream and Andromeda with delicate vocals and mellotron sounds. Almost all the tracks ran for under four minutes, but that did not matter at all! It was all closed by an excellent, 10-minute version of "Making Time" from the repertoire of Creation, whom I adore. American digipak edition of the seventh and at the same time last album of the 70s, from 1976, by one of the most popular Dutch formations. "Blue Breeze" was at one time also released in Poland by Polskie Nagrania and for that reason in our country it is probably the band's best-known record - and a really successful one, too! Plus six bonus tracks. Recommended. -

A German band with vocalist John Lawton - later known from Uriah Heep. The debut record from December 1970 is among the few best albums recorded in Germany. Pure heavy-rock, close to the first albums of Black Sabbath and Uriah Heep. The second record from 1972 is also great, although more progressive - with numerous changes of mood. At the same time (the early 70s) the band also recorded under other names: Electic Food (excellent heavy rock) and Pink Mice (heavy symphonic rock). A reissue, in the original, controversial sleeve (no major label would let this project through today...), of the only album, recorded in 1971, by a totally forgotten British hard rock band (two white Englishmen + two Barbadians) - very rare, but excellent. The album was filled with riffing hard rock tracks (though drenched in a psychedelic or progressive sauce) in the vein of Horse, Incredible Hog, Stray or Leaf Hound. The original Polydor vinyl in MINT- condition is worth 700-800 euros today, so it is certainly worth taking an interest in this perfectly sounding reissue! Additionally included are the B-side of the band's only single (1970) and an unreleased track from 1971. Highly recommended! (JL) -

"Missing", made in late autumn 1976 for the Quality label, which shied away from heavy sounds, contained a rather eccentric combination of hard rock, pop music, rock and roll and gentle progressive rock. -
