LIMELIGHT - Limelight +4 - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded - LISTEN - VERY RARE

On CD for the first time outside Japan and also for the first time in the original, black cover! Released in 1980, the only, almost forgotten and in my opinion almost perfect album by this British formation is usually counted as part of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, though in truth it is simply heavy, almost progressive playing strongly inspired by the work of Led Zeppelin, Rush, Rainbow/Deep Purple, and also Yes! Besides the traditional set of instruments the trio also used wonderful mellotron sounds, which can be heard on the two longest tracks (8 minutes each) and is another reason to buy this superbly recorded CD! In addition four tracks from very good, rare singles are included. Highly recommended! (JL)
