DEF LEPPARD - DEF LEPPARD - First Strikes 1978-1979 - FRA On The Air - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A superb, tastefully presented, though unofficial, limited compilation gathering probably all the most important recordings made by the band before the release of the first album ("On Through The Night" from March 1980) and never officially released on CD! In order: the first, legendary EP "Def Leppard" from January 1979 - regarded as the first record of the NWOBHM movement, the LP "First Strike", released in 1984 but withdrawn on the spot (containing seven demo tracks from 1979), a fantastic, 30-minute recording of a concert from the BBC archives from August 1979 (they never played as well as then) and three tracks, or early versions, from rare, very early singles. The covers of these releases are inside the booklet. So it is 80 minutes of dynamic, melodic playing for two lead guitars in the style of 'Thin Lizzy, Wishbone Ash and Tygers Of Pan Tang in one' - what is more with sound of excellent quality. An absolute must! -
DEF LEPPARD - DEF LEPPARD - Live At The BBC 1979-1980 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, a 55-minute black vinyl released in a beautiful, laminated sleeve with rare, very early photos of the band. This genuinely wonderful album contains two legendary concerts from the period before and just after the release of the debut LP 'On Through The Night'. First, a 32-minute, fantastic-sounding show from August 1979 (taken from the original, promotional BBC Transcription Disc + an additional, missing track 'Rock Brigade' from another source), when the band had a self-financed EP to its name. Most of the second side is taken up by an almost complete, 24-minute show from the 1980 Reading Festival (with a brilliant version of 'Lady Strange' from the second record) - in almost equally good quality! The album contains rare titles not released on official records, such as 'Glad I'm Alive' and 'Medicine Man'. Generally I am not a die-hard Def Leppard fan, but on the first two albums and at the early concerts (with two lead guitars in the old style) they were phenomenal! The whole sounds 20% better than the best versions on YouTube (links below). A must! Condition: NEW, but not shrink-wrapped. -

Second album by an Italian, progressive formation combining the style of early Jethro Tull (flute) with jazz-rock playing in the style of If and Colosseum. A very good album that will certainly appeal to fans of progressive, slightly jazzy playing of the early 70s. Very tastefully presented, Italian reissue in a gatefold sleeve, on red vinyl. -

DELIVERY (see also: Caravan / Gong / Soft Machine) - CAROL GRIMES AND DELIVERY - Fools Meeting +7 - EU Prog Gems Expanded Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A wonderful, progressive and without doubt pioneering album with distinctly jazzy elements, released at the end of 1970 - recorded by future musicians of Gong, Caravan, Nucleus and Soft Machine. This CD, lasting 79 minutes, contains splendid, extended compositions free of musical padding, a dense sound, and above all the fantastic, emotional (and fortunately free of the hoarseness popular at the time...) female vocal of Carol Grimes - one of the best rock vocalists of the day! How good this album is can be heard literally from the first 10-20 seconds! NOTE! The earlier CD version, long unavailable, was credited under the name Delivery, but the original vinyl (faithfully reproduced in this booklet) was credited as Carol Grimes And Delivery. Additionally 7 tracks are included, among them the B-side of a rare single from 1970 and a short BBC radio performance. Great sound! A MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
DELTA BLUES BAND (see also: Pan) - DELTA BLUES BAND - Delta Blues Band - EU Sun King Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
The only album by a Danish band combining psychedelic, guitar-driven rock (with occasional wind instruments - saxophone, flute) with blues - as such bands as Cream, Taste, Ten Years After, Jethro Tull, Beefeaters and Cuby & The Blizzards had done before. 2024 reissue, in a laminated sleeve. CONDITION: new, unsealed. An absolute classic! A MUST! (JL) -
DELTA BLUES BAND (see also: Pan) - DELTA BLUES BAND - Delta Blues Band - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Remastered (beautiful sounding!) Swedish edition of the only album by a Danish formation combining psychedelic, guitar-driven rock (with occasional brass - saxophone, flute) with blues - just as bands such as Cream, Taste, Ten Years After, Jethro Tull, Beefeaters and Cuby & The Blizzards did before. I first put the record in the 'psychedelic rock' category and only after some thought moved it to the blues section. An absolute classic! A MUST! (JL) -
DEMIAN (US prog) - DEMIAN - Rock Star Farm - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! Attention! This is not the heavy rock Demian from Texas (transformed from the psychedelic formation Bubble Puppy), but a quite different, progressive, also American Demian, who released their only, very rare album in 1974 on the local label Starburst. Rock Star Farm is a kind of ambitious rock opera, tackling the most negative side of the rock lifestyle, that is... premature death. More on this in the libretto reproduced inside the booklet, while the music itself is a very original, quite catchy and very professional cross, full of changing moods, between late-ish The Doors and the hard rock sound (slow tempos + Hammonds) of the group Bloodrock, with a nice, strong vocal that is a blend of Arthur Brown and David Bowie. All the fairly short tracks form a kind of 35-minute rock suite in which it is hard to be bored and which is certainly worth getting to know! Very good, clean sound quality, mastered (like all Flawed Gems CDs) from the original vinyl. Highly recommended! -
DEMON FUZZ - DEMON FUZZ - Afreaka! +3 - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The best rock record ever made by black musicians - beating the early Osibisa albums! Remastered, British edition of a superb album combining classic, juicy prog-rock with elements of caustic funk and good jazz - something like Hannibal and a stronger If. Plenty of Hammond, nice saxophone and flute parts, great, almost heavy-rock drumming and above all long, extended tracks. Additionally three tracks from a rare EP. This is rocking and an absolute must! (JL) -
DEMON FUZZ - DEMON FUZZ - Afreaka! - EU Music On Vinyl Remastered 180g Press - LISTENprice: 155,00 PLN / 38,75 EUR
A remastered reissue of the only and truly excellent album combining classic, juicy prog rock with elements of biting funk and jazz. Plenty of Hammonds, nice saxophone and flute parts, great, almost heavy-rock drumming and above all long expansive tracks. -
DEREK & THE DOMINOS (see also: Eric Clapton) - DEREK AND THE DOMINOS - Layla And Assorted Love Songs - Remastered Editionprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A classic, bluesy album recorded by Eric Clapton's band with the participation of Duane Allman. It is one of the best blues-rock albums of all time(!!!), containing, among others: the absolutely classic Layla; I Looked Away; Bell Bottom Blues; the 10-minute Key To The Highway; Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad - with superb solos by Clapton and Allman - and a very nice version of Hendrix's Little Wing! Truth be told, this wonderful album does not have a single weak spot (well, except perhaps for the average Keep On Growing, which refers to the work of Delaney And Bonnie)! The absolute canon of rock! New, remastered edition. -
