DEMIAN - Rock Star Farm - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE

On CD for the first time! Attention! This is not the heavy rock Demian from Texas (transformed from the psychedelic formation Bubble Puppy), but a quite different, progressive, also American Demian, who released their only, very rare album in 1974 on the local label Starburst. Rock Star Farm is a kind of ambitious rock opera, tackling the most negative side of the rock lifestyle, that is... premature death. More on this in the libretto reproduced inside the booklet, while the music itself is a very original, quite catchy and very professional cross, full of changing moods, between late-ish The Doors and the hard rock sound (slow tempos + Hammonds) of the group Bloodrock, with a nice, strong vocal that is a blend of Arthur Brown and David Bowie. All the fairly short tracks form a kind of 35-minute rock suite in which it is hard to be bored and which is certainly worth getting to know! Very good, clean sound quality, mastered (like all Flawed Gems CDs) from the original vinyl. Highly recommended!
