A rare, limited CD containing an 80-minute recording of a unique and at the same time very good concert by a heavily forgotten British heavy rock band (with only two singles to its name), with the young drummer Cozy Powell and the talented guitarist Dave Ball (later in Procol Harum). In 1973 the trio (with a vocalist added) turned into Bedlam. Big Bertha played classic, very heavy, heavily improvised rock in the vein of Led Zeppelin, Cream and Mountain. Fans of this kind of playing will be delighted! The sound quality is almost ideal - slightly better than on the earlier (double and unavailable for many years) edition of this title. The LP begins with the excellent, seven-minute "Il Tempo Della Samina", that is, the title track of the group's second album, recorded in 1975 but not released until years later! The next five tracks are almost entirely the superbly played debut album. Very tastefully presented Italian gatefold LP with an insert as well. A must for all fans of old, progressive playing with Hammond, flute and heavyish guitar! Recommended! -

This sole, entirely instrumental album, released in 1971 by an ephemeral British band, is counted as so-called 'library music', that is, illustrative music usually created by top session musicians for low-budget films, documentaries and so on. Records with this kind of material were released by specialist labels in minimal runs and today are vinyl rarities. A typical example of this subgenre were The Pretty Things' records released under the Electric Banana banner. The record is a slab of solid, atmospheric and very trance-like playing on the edge of psychedelia, pop and early progressive rock. The whole sounds as if it were made in 1968 or 1969. You can hear Bruford's experience drawn from Yes and King Crimson, but Earthworks from the start had its own, much more jazz formula. -

A German reissue by Ohr in a gatefold sleeve of the exquisite second album by a very popular German band. This is probably the best and most progressive item in the band's otherwise consistent and recommendable discography! Several extended tracks of 8-10 minutes (recalling the work of heavy Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Atomic Rooster and ELP) - so typical of top-shelf German playing! At the time Operation was released by the legendary German label Ohr and as an original (with a five-digit catalogue number) it is worth over 300 euros; so this very tasteful reissue is quite a good alternative for vinyl collectors. A must! Condition: NEW, sealed. -
