BIGROUP - Big Hammer - SPA Wah Wah Remastered Limited Press - LISTEN - LAST COPY

This sole, entirely instrumental album, released in 1971 by an ephemeral British band, is counted as so-called 'library music', that is, illustrative music usually created by top session musicians for low-budget films, documentaries and so on. Records with this kind of material were released by specialist labels in minimal runs and today are vinyl rarities. A typical example of this subgenre were The Pretty Things' records released under the Electric Banana banner. The record is a slab of solid, atmospheric and very trance-like playing on the edge of psychedelia, pop and early progressive rock. The whole sounds as if it were made in 1968 or 1969. Highly recommended! Spanish reissue in a round sleeve, no longer in production, limited to 500 copies. (JL)
