A revelation! Released in Argentina in 1974 by the small Promusica label, this truly excellent debut album by a progressive Argentinian band (worth 500 euros on vinyl in mint condition) featured the classically tinged sound of the Hammond organ and juicy, rather heavy parts for TWO guitars in the foreground. This is world-class playing (in the European manner) - a bit like Deep Purple mixed with Beggars Opera and Focus, and with early Wishbone Ash! At times it is hard to believe how good this music is! In my opinion it is one of the three best progressive albums from South America! A MUST! (JL) -

Avenger was founded by former members of the band Blitzkrieg. In 1982 their first demo track, "Hot 'N' Heavy Express", ended up on Neat Records' compilation "One Take No Dubs (Live In The Studio)". A year later, through the same label, the debut single "Too Wild To Tame" was released. Shortly after, the vocalist Brian Ross left for the band Satan, while Ian Swift went the other way and with him in the line-up Avenger released their debut LP, "Blood Sports", in 1984. The second album, "Killer Elite", came out a year later, and the band went on a tour of the USA. Unfortunately, right after it Avenger broke up. Ian Swift joined Atomkraft, and the drummer Gary Young joined the meanwhile reactivated Blitzkrieg. The band's music is classic, heavy, British hammering with occasional accelerations. CD1 is the debut album "Blood Sports" from 1984, CD2 - its successor "Killer Elite" from 1985, and CD3 contains tracks from the concert on 3 March 1986, at the L'Amour club in Brooklyn. Bonus tracks are added to both studio records. Highly recommended! -

An extended, two-disc concept album by Arjen Lucassen from 2008, in the rock opera form characteristic of Ayreon. Musically it is a combination of heavier, guitar parts with spacious keyboards and electronics. The compositions are multi-part, flowing smoothly between passages of differing dynamics – from more energetic, riff-driven sections to calmer, mood-building ones. The whole has a distinctly cinematic character, and the futuristic theme underlines the "cosmic" feel of the music. It is one of the more extended and representative records in Ayreon's catalogue – an important item for fans of progressive metal and concept albums. Only one copy! New, sealed. -

A two-disc, expanded, Australian edition of the album "The Hoax Is Over", by the then most popular Australian band playing in the style of the early Allman Brothers Band. The first disc contains the album from 1971, on which Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs present a heavy, raw sound based on long improvisations. The centrepiece of the record is the monumental, more than twenty-minute version of "Gangster of Love", showing the band in full live energy. It is complemented by, among others, "Mississippi" and "Goodbye Baby", as well as a set of singles and live recordings from the late 60s and early 70s. The second disc has an archival character – it contains previously unreleased demos, live recordings and rare material from 1972–1976. Highly recommended! -

A 60-minute, attractively produced (in a gatefold sleeve) and great-sounding reissue of the debut album, recorded in 1970 (but released only in 1973 in France), by a completely forgotten British band. "Lemmings" is superb, fairly heavy progressive rock of the top shelf, with clear psychedelic touches - at times strongly reminiscent of the work of T2. The LP contains the entire material from the French vinyl and three tracks from the same session, released only in 1977 on a British EP. A MUST! NEW, SEALED.
