CLAPTON, ERIC - Eric Clapton – Life in 12 Bars (2CD) - EU Press - UNIKALNY CDprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
This is not an ordinary "greatest hits" compilation, but a well-thought-out cross-section of Eric Clapton's whole career – from his earliest recordings to later, more reflective pieces. The album is the soundtrack to the documentary about Clapton of the same title - and that is exactly how it sounds: like a musical biography. The first disc focuses on the roots – raw, electric blues and the British scene of the 60s. You can hear the young Clapton in full-energy form here: sharp riffs, inspirations from Muddy Waters and a pure, unpolished style. Recordings with The Yardbirds or John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers show how quickly he was growing into one of the most important guitarists of his era. The second disc is a more mature Clapton – more emotion, more space and a more personal tone. Classics appear from Derek and the Dominos and solo recordings, including "Tears in Heaven". ONLY ONE COPY! New, sealed. ONLY ONE COPY! New, sealed. -

HAMMEL, PAVOL (see also: Prudy) - PAVOL HAMMEL / PRÚDY – The Best Of - Pavian Records Pressprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
This is not just a set of old hits but, above all, new studio interpretations of the songs, prepared to mark the band's 50th anniversary. The recordings were made in 2017, and the album was released on vinyl in 2018. The tracks include "Podnájom", "Medulienka", "Zvonky zvoňte", "Stromy" and "Dnes už viem". Of particular interest is the new track "Víno, spev a ženy", which joins a repertoire built up over many years. It is worth stressing that re-recording the material has made it possible to present the classic compositions in modern sound quality; some of the tracks from the album Zvoňte, zvonky can be heard here in stereo for the first time. -

MEGADETH - SO FAR... SO GOOD... SO MEGADETH - MARTIN POPOFFprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
The run of thrash classics served up by Megadeth from the mid-80s and through the 90s is still held in high regard by the metal community, even though all of the band leader Dave Mustaine's former colleagues - apart from Dave "Junior" Ellefson - disappeared into the mists of history long ago. Those years were marked by unhealthy relations between Mustaine and his former Metallica bandmates, but also by a whole mass of wonderful metal that the band put out as it climbed ever higher, beginning with the albums Peace Sells and So Far, So Good... So What! through to the superb classics of the genre, namely Rust In Peace and Countdown To Extinction. Then, however, came Cryptic Writings and Risk, albums that threatened the very existence of the group, but also the later reconstruction of Megadeth, after their ignominious fall and a period of humiliating dispersal brought about by Mustaine's destructive personality. All of this is the untold story of Megadeth - untold until now. But it is also a story worth telling, because it teaches how to rebuild and sustain a career. This is borne out by Megadeth's more recent work, from the albums The World Needs A Hero to Super Collider, which contain some of the best and heaviest tracks ever to appear on the band's records. Get swept away by Mustaine's vision and celebrate it, track by track, with leading author Martin Popoff. With more than sixty books to his name, Popoff applies the same tried and tested method in his dazzlingly rich body of work, writing with equal force about the latest trends and about the classics you all know and love. 416 pages, richly illustrated, hardback. -
