A great-sounding European edition, released for the first time in a gatefold sleeve, of what is in my opinion the best American heavy progressive rock album of the late 70s! Released privately by the band in 1979 (but very professionally recorded and produced), the album simply delights with its pioneering combination of heavy rock (almost metal) with progressive sounds. One can hear the influence of Rush from the "2112" period, Black Sabbath, early Wishbone Ash and Judas Priest, though on the other hand the music of this trio will delight fans of Manilla Road, Cirith Ungol or Manowar. The original vinyl in perfect condition and with the rare insert is worth 1000 dollars. The sound is excellent - much better than the content of the YouTube links below. A MUST! NEW, SEALED. (JL) -

Please ignore the late date! In Spain many important and beautiful records appeared in 1975-79. The first (and best) album by this heavy-rock (slightly bluesy) group contains very dynamic music with a heavy, guitar sound. Long tracks (6-7 minutes each) with a dense texture predominate. The good old sound, as in 1972-74! And the instrumental miniature "Se Acabo" that closes the record is the most beautiful piece for classical guitar I have heard in my life! A must! -

This 80-minute, unofficial live album was made during the American tour promoting the LP "Octave" - the first with the keyboardist Patrick Moraz, well known from Yes, Mainhorse and Refugee! The concert was originally released by the American radio station ABC as a super rare, promotional, three-disc vinyl (together with adverts). The four probably weakest tracks from this performance appeared a few years ago among the bonus tracks on the CD "Octave", while all the rest (a real "The Best Of" of 1967-1972) has now come out in a run of just 500 copies. The sound quality is excellent, and the playing first-rate! An absolute must for every fan of classic progressive rock! -

The two-disc release from the German label MIG Music combines two classic titles from the somewhat later period of Omega's activity. Released first in Germany in the English version, Gammapolis (1978), popular among fans, is an album full of extended compositions, striking synthesiser and mellotron parts and characteristic, melodic guitars, which create a monumental, cosmic sound, combining progressive rock with hard rock energy and catchy themes. Filling CD2, 'Live at The Kisstadion' (1979) was recorded during concerts in Budapest in September 1979 and shows the band in excellent live form, presenting extended versions of pieces, virtuoso instrumental parts and superb cooperation between the musicians. Highly recommended!
