The first-ever anthology of the group from Blackpool, who self-released one of the rarest and most expensive albums in the world. In 1970 the quartet pressed 99 copies (to avoid tax) of their debut album, whose sleeve, owing to a production flaw, was slightly smaller than the record. In 1971 the group recorded a second album, "The Way We Feel", released in August of that year by the Deroy label, again in 99 copies. The third CD contains five tracks from an acetate recorded in 1972, as well as the single "Who Got The Love / She Turns Me On" from 1976 and previously unreleased recordings from 1973-1978. The discs come in sleeves slipped into a cardboard slipcase, together with a 24-page booklet containing, among other things, the history of the group. Highly recommended! (MU) -

The two bonuses are recordings from the sessions for "Photo-Finish" that did not make it onto the original vinyl album from 1978 and were later added to the CD editions. -

Released in an attractive sleeve, a two-disc CD lasting 158 minutes containing above all a fantastic-sounding and superbly played 138-minute, legendary concert professionally recorded in Chicago on 13 October 1978 during the tour promoting the LP "And Then There Were Three" and broadcast by American radio. It was the first tour without Steve Hackett, but with the esteemed guitarist from the jazz fusion circle, Darryl Stuermer. On the second drum kit played the former drummer of Zappa and Weather Report - Chester Thompson. This was probably the best-sounding concert of the whole 1978 tour and at the same time it must be added that the band played fantastically! This is still stunning, progressive, of course lightly smoothed-out (like all the popular bands of the day) Genesis of the late 70s but with a dream set of tracks! It was certainly no worse playing than the last tour from 1977 with Hackett! Additionally 3 rare recordings played at other performances, lasting 20 minutes in all, are included: 'Down And Out', 'The Ballad Of Big' and 'The Fountain Of Salmacis'. The last of these appeared officially on 'Three Sides Live'. An absolute must for progressive rock fans! Condition: New, sealed. (JL)
