ANALOGUE SOUND! A super rare, first JAPANESE pressing by Warner Bros, from March 1973 (still with the olive-green label on the vinyl, already replaced in April 1973 by a new design with an avenue of trees) of the classic, underrated album (the last with the young Gillan and Glover) containing, among others, "Woman From Tokyo" and "Rat Bat Blue". Plus a purple lyric insert - filled with Japanese characters on the other side. Perfect condition! A limited, very rare, 80-minute CD with an excellent, complete show from Osaka on 29 June 1973. It was the HISTORIC FAREWELL CONCERT OF THE LINE-UP WITH IAN GILLAN AND ROGER GLOVER (please listen to Ian's goodbye to the fans on the final track) and also the last date of the second Japanese tour (a year after the recording of the LP "Made In Japan"). The setlist is identical to the classic MIJ, but the playing is a little different. I recommend the excellent, extended "Space Truckin'", altered because it is combined with "The Mule" - "Lazy", as well as a brilliant version of "Child In Time" - played at almost double speed, with an incredibly fast and completely changed guitar solo from Blackmore! The sound quality of this fairly professional audience recording is very good, though not flawless. It is a great pleasure to listen to from start to finish! A must! (JL) -

Limited to 300 copies and released in a beautiful, gatefold, laminated sleeve, a 57-minute black vinyl containing a very good, though not ideal, sounding, excellent show from Osaka, from 29 June 1973. It was the historic, farewell concert of the line-up with Gillan and Glover, and at the same time the last show of the second Japanese tour promoting "Who Do We Think We Are". The setlist was practically identical to the LP "Made In Japan", recorded almost a year earlier, but the playing is nevertheless a little different. Compared with the CD version this vinyl sounds even slightly better, however, because of the time limits of this already very long record, the drum solo in "Lazy", the middle part of "Space Truckin" and the very long announcements are missing. It is a great pleasure to listen to from start to finish! Highly recommended! NOTE: This is the second (much better) concert in Osaka, from 29 June! The much worse (more poorly recorded and with Blackmore in much worse form) show of 27 June is also known as the LP "Storm On Osaka". Condition: NEW, not shrink-wrapped. (JL) -

Released in early 1973, the only album by a great heavy blues-rock band from Uruguay. This remastered and very good-sounding release (much better than the Akarma CD in a non-original sleeve) is very heavy, jamming playing with bluesy elements in the style of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Cream and Cactus. Fairly long tracks, plenty of improvisation - a very professional, though underground, record! Highly recommended! (JL) -

Fairly long tracks, plenty of improvisation - a very professional, though underground, record! 2023 reissue from the Uruguayan label Little Butterfly. Highly recommended! -

Released at the end of 1973 by CBS, a great album by a hard blues-rock Belgian band, led by the former leader of the blues-rock band Burning Plague - known for the cult LP from 1970. Doctor Downtrip is classic, fairly heavy, thoroughbred European playing, a bit in the vein of our Breakout from 1972-1974, but in my opinion better. Additionally included are six rare recordings from three singles from 1970-1973. Highly recommended! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

Released in 1973, the second (as it turned out years later...) album by this British band, containing very dynamic, Purple-and-Heep-like hard rock (guitar + organ), with clearly progressive touches (including the 9-minute "St. John's") and of the best kind. "Changing My Ways", on the other hand, at times reminiscent of "Highway Star", is a hard-rock classic! A remastered 2021 edition, in a digipak, with five previously unpublished bonus tracks. The second and third studio albums by Dzyan on 2 CDs, released in the form of card sleeves (mini LP) - the most experimental face of German krautrock, from shorter forms to the 17-minute title composition "Time Machine" and the extended "For Earthly Thinking". The two albums show Dzyan's development from psychedelic rock towards a more spacious mixture of jazz, electronics and oriental music, with a very important role for guitar, sitar, mellotron and extended percussion. -

A new, remastered, limited, European edition of the third (and last excellent) album, recorded in autumn 1972 and released by Polydor in March 1973, by Dutchmen playing stylish top-shelf progressive rock in the style of Pink Floyd, Camel, old Genesis, The Moody Blues and Focus - with a great, female vocal. As with the CD 'Songs Of The Marching Children' (also recently released with bonus tracks by Prog Gems), one side of the record is filled by a brilliant, probably even better, delightful 17-minute suite combining stunning melody with the progressive canon. All fans of classic prog rock (wailing but powerful-sounding guitars, analogue synthesiser, Hammond organ, mellotron, dark atmospheres) will be delighted and I know what I'm writing, because over the years I strongly underrated this album! Additionally 7 recordings are added to the disc - including the B-side of a single from 1974 and a nearly 40-minute fragment of a great concert from March 1974 coming from the archive of the band's original sound engineer. Unfortunately, after 1975 (after a nice fourth record) the band turned towards pop music and somewhat tarnished its reputation as, alongside Focus, in my opinion the best progressive band from Holland! The sound is excellent and of course beats hands down the lifeless versions from YouTube or Spotify. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

ANALOGUE SOUND! A very rare, first American United Artists edition (from 1973, in a completely changed sleeve compared with the UK version) of the most 'progressive' record by this band. The album contains four expansive recordings, combining the style of classic, Beatles-like rock with typical prog rock of the time, and the hit "Roll Over Beethoven" - the track thanks to which Jeff Lynne's band gained worldwide popularity! It really is a piece of good and quite inventive playing. Additionally an inner sleeve with lyrics. Great condition! The stiff, gatefold sleeve has slight scuffs, otherwise it is very fresh: EXCELLENT+ / The record almost like new: MINT(-) -
