EGG (see also: Arzachel / Khan / Groundhogs) - EGG - Egg +2 - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Remastered and expanded Esoteric edition, with two bonuses from the first single (1969) and with the missing/previously unreleased fragment of the 20-minute suite! Egg is one of my favourite progressive bands - combining elements of the style of The Nice and early Soft Machine (overdriven Hammond organ) with a rhythm section hitting hard with almost mathematical precision. The music itself may be a little "far out", but it is still dynamic, rock. For seekers of strong musical sensations. The same band recorded a brilliant record as Arzachel. An absolute must! -

The second album by a Dutch progressive band, based mainly on transcriptions of works of classical music. An album quite widely considered the most 'progressive' in this band's career. -

ELASTIC BAND (see also: Sweet / Mayfield's Mule) - ELASTIC BAND - Expansions On Life +4 - EU Prog Gems Expanded Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A long-awaited edition of the only, but great, album, released by Decca in January 1970, by a British progressive band playing ambitious blues-jazz-psych rock typical of 1969, with saxophone, flute and Hammond organ, in the vein of early Jethro Tull (from the period of the debut LP "This Was"), Procol Harum, and even The Moody Blues - with a vocal reminiscent of David Clayton-Thomas of Blood Sweat And Tears. On guitar was the underrated Andy Scott - already a year later attacking with riffs in Sweet. Additionally four decent recordings from rhythm'n'blues/pop-psychedelic singles from 1968. A must! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
CD
ELECTRIC FOOD (see also: Pink Mice / Lucifer's Friend - ELECTRIC FOOD - Electric Food / Flash - GER Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Two great albums on a single CD containing pure heavy rock (with Hammond) in the vein of Black Sabbath/Uriah Heep/Free - with occasional influences of psychedelia. The track Nosferatu is an absolute monster! Under this pseudonym were hiding the musicians also known as Lucifer's Friend (but still without vocalist John Lawton). For 1970 it was genuinely intense playing! Highly recommended! -

CD
EMBRYO (see also: Amon Duul II / Xhol) - EMBRYO - Opal - GER Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
The first album by one of the most important German bands. "Opal" is a kind of 'hotchpotch': rock guitar, vibrating saxophone, psychedelic aura, simplicity and trip. Without doubt the best album in the band's discography and at the same time one of the most interesting German records! An Italian 1997 edition. Additionally two bonus tracks lasting 30 minutes! -

EMERSON LAKE & PALMER - EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER - Emerson, Lake & Palmer - JAPAN Atlantic 1971 1st Press (+OBI) - NEAR MINT VINTAGE VINYLprice: 450,00 PLN / 112,50 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! A very rare (especially in such perfect condition), first Japanese pressing (by Atlantic from early 1971) of the brilliant debut album (released in the UK in November 1970), containing, among others, "Lucky Man", "Barbarian", "Knife-Edge" and "Take A Pebble". A wonderful copy in perfect condition and with the very rare OBI strip! Complete with the original label insert. The delicate, rather thin sleeve is almost like new - it is hard to find a better one: MINT- / The record looks unplayed: MINT(-) -
CD
EUCLID - EUCLID - Heavy Equipment - EU Once Again Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Released in 1970, a truly legendary album belonging to the canon of American 'underground' heavy psych rock. Decidedly more 'heavy' than 'psych'. The band's only album very successfully combined heavy, juicy guitar sounds and dynamic, very precise playing by the rhythm section, with elements of the fading psychedelia. This record is real dynamite in the style of Josefus, Maypole, Tin House or Dragonfly! The original vinyl in perfect condition is worth 400 euros. A must! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

EVOLUTION - EVOLUTION - Evolution +4 - GER Expanded Digipack Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
The only album by a German formation, released only in Spain. This very rare record consisted mainly of covers of other artists' recordings, including two tracks from the King Crimson debut, Spirit's "Fresh Garbage" and Santana's "Evil Ways". Plus material from singles. A nice, slightly jazzy record with a psychedelic sound - at moments with a pinch of soul. Digipak edition. Recommended. -
CD
EXUMA - EXUMA - Exuma - UK Repertoire Remastered Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Released in 1970, the debut album by an American formation playing a rather peculiar mixture of New Orleans folk music, jazz and calypso, enriched with ritual chants and trance-like, swaying rhythms - something like an early, less rock-oriented Dr. John. Repertoire digipak. (JL) -
CD
EXUMA - EXUMA - Exuma II - UK Repertoire Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Also released in 1970 (by Mercury Records), the second album by an American formation playing a rather peculiar mixture of New Orleans folk music, jazz and calypso, enriched with ritual chants and trance-like, swaying rhythms - something like an early, less rock-oriented Dr. John. FAIRFIELD PARLOUR (see also: Kaleidoscope) - FAIRFIELD PARLOUR - From Home To Home - EU 180g Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Actually this is the third album by the British band Kaleidoscope, who, discouraged by the failure of the first two brilliant albums, signed a contract with Vertigo and changed their name to Fairfield Parlour. In vain... A charming combination of the style of The Beatles, early Bee Gees and The Moody Blues. A fairy-tale mood, Mellotron, warm vocals, wonderful melodies... A replica of the 1970 German Vertigo edition, in a gatefold sleeve, on 180-gram vinyl. A must! -

FANTASY (US Prog) - FANTASY - Fantasy - SWE Flawed Gems - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This is not a British band, but a progressive, slightly bluesy outfit from the States with a single album, released by Liberty in 1970 and now reissued by Flawed Gems. The American Fantasy is a very eclectic combination of psychedelic style with a pinch of blues and jazz and a typically progressive (quite British) delivery! Quite long tracks, nice guitar solos, ubiquitous, heavy Hammond organ tones and a really nice female vocal! Typical 1970! And there is a surprise... It turned out that the first track on the record, Blues Creation/Carmen Maki's "I Understand", was composed by none other than the 16-year-old vocalist! Highly recommended! -

FARLOWE, CHRIS with THE HILL (see also: Colosseum / Atomic Rooster) - CHRIS FARLOWE WITH THE HILL - From Here To Mama Rosa - UK Repertoire 180g Press - LISTENprice: 130,00 PLN / 32,50 EUR
I have always thought very highly of this almost completely unknown record, released by Polydor in 1970! Let me say at once that it is in no way the rhythm'n'blues-pop-soul known from the earlier (widely known) albums, but richly arranged and classically delivered progressive rock (with a dominant Hammond organ sound) at a very high level! Farlowe was not quite the main protagonist of this album, as the music itself was reportedly made much earlier, and the vocalist merely added his vocal parts at the end. The band The Hill, meanwhile, which grew out of the last line-up of the Thunderbirds, includes the keyboard player Peter Robinson (then in Quatermass), the guitarist and great composer Steve Hammond (ex-Fat Mattress, Quatermass) and the cellist Paul Buckmaster (early Elton John, Third Ear Band). So it is hardly surprising that the result was an exquisite, very refined, though not the easiest to take in (that is praise) album. Of course the record did not sell at all, and in that same year, 1970, Farlowe recorded the LP "Daughter Of Time" with Colosseum. Highly recommended! (JL) -

FAT MATTRESS (see also: Jimi Hendrix) - FAT MATRESS - Fat Mattress - US ATCO ('yellow') 1969 1st Press - EXCELLENT PLUS VINTAGE VINYLprice: 300,00 PLN / 75,00 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! A very rare, first American pressing (from 1969) of the very good, debut album by a British band (a bit psych, a bit prog, a bit hard) founded by Noel Redding (ex-Jimi Hendrix Experience). The sleeve has a promotional punch hole in the top right corner: EXCELLENT+ / Record: EXCELLENT+ -

A three-disc set containing, remastered, all the recordings of the cult British band, playing eclectic, partly psych, partly early-progressive music with the addition of acoustic sounds - based on the intense guitar parts of Dave Lambert (later Strawbs). -
CD
FIVE DAY RAIN - FIVE DAY RAIN - Good Year - Five Day Rain Anthology (2CD) - UK Grapefruit Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
A double anthology by an excellent British band, playing early progressive rock with psychedelic touches. Unfortunately the finished album was rejected by the label. It was typical playing for the turn of the decades, that is ubiquitous organ parts, quite dynamic guitar parts, catchy melodies and a somewhat dreamy mood. It may bring to mind Andwella's Dream, Czar and Cressida, as well as Canterbury Glass. The whole thing comes in a gatefold digipak, with a 24-page booklet with rare photos and memories of the band's members inside. A MUST! (JL)
