ELONKORJUU - ELONKORJUU - Harvest Time +1 - EU Ethelion Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A remastered and excellent-sounding vinyl edition of a Finnish rock classic - together with a bonus track! In my opinion, alongside the debut album by Culpeper's Orchard, it is the best rock record ever made in Scandinavia and certainly in the top twenty of continental Europe! Released in 1972 by the Finnish branch of EMI Parlophone, the LP "Harvest Time" is on the wish list of almost every serious vinyl collector. Unfortunately the original copies (in nearly ideal condition) that appear on the market once a year easily exceed 1200 euros and as such are rather out of reach... As for the music, it is a wonderful and incredibly catchy combination of the style of heavy rock of the Budgie, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple kind, the progressive elements of the work of early Jethro Tull and a large pinch of Scandinavian... sadness. Here everything fits together perfectly: the superb, very atmospheric though usually feisty electric guitar parts and the Hammonds echoing in the background and the dark vocals and finally the very juicy and at the same time slightly jazzy drumming... All the melodies catch the ear almost at once and at moments it is hard to believe that it is such good playing! No, I repeat no fan of heavy progressive rock can function normally without this record! Additionally an excellent, 8-minute track released in 1971 on the very rare, local Finnish compilation "Pop Mestarit" is included. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! (JL) -

HAIKARA - HAIKARA - Haikara - EU Music On CD Edition - LISTEN - LAST COPYprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A Finnish band playing nice prog rock in the vein of early Gentle Giant. The debut album from 1972 in its vinyl version is worth a small fortune. A 2019 reissue, no longer in production. Recommended. (JL) -
HANOI ROCKS - HANOI ROCKS - Days We Spent Underground 1981-1984 (5CD) - UK Hear No Evil Edition - LISTENprice: 200,00 PLN / 50,00 EUR
A five-disc set presenting the first albums by the cult Finnish glam-hard rock band, cited as an inspiration by, among others, Guns N' Roses. These are the studio albums: "Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks" from 1981, "Oriental Beat" from 1982 and "Back To Mystery City" from 1983, as well as the live "All Those Wasted Years" recorded in December 1983 at the Marquee club in London and "Self Destruction Blues", counted among the studio albums but really a compilation of single tracks from 1980-1982. The whole thing in a rigid box. Highly recommended! (MU) -
KALEVALA - KALEVALA - People No Names / Boogie Jungle (1972-75) - EU Walhalla Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Another excellent band from Scandinavia - this time from Finland. The first, superb, decidedly progressive album from 1972 was based on heavy guitar riffs, a slightly bluesy mood and strong vocals. Something in the vein of Culpeper's Orchard and Wishbone Ash. You listen to this in one breath! For me this record is top ten (perhaps top five...) of Scandinavian rock! The second record on this single CD ("Boogie Jungle") was in a much lighter vein. Highly recommended! (JL) -

The first, exquisite, decidedly progressive album by the Finnish band, based on heavy guitar riffs, a slightly bluesy feel and a powerful vocal. A remastered anniversary edition in a digipak. A must! (JL) -

TASAVALLAN PRESIDENTTI (see also: Jukka Tolonen) - TASAVALLAN PRESIDENTTI - Tasavallan Presidentti (Swedish 2nd Album) - EU Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Second album by a Finnish formation - recorded in August 1970, but released only in Sweden at the very beginning of 1971. Captivating material in the style of If, Jethro Tull and Traffic, but played in a typically Scandinavian way - darker, juicier and very much from the heart! New, sealed. A must! -

TASAVALLAN PRESIDENTTI (see also: Jukka Tolonen) - TASAVALLAN PRESIDENTTI - Tasavallan Presidentti +5 - EU Eclipse Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Released in 1969, a superb debut album by a Finnish band (the most popular alongside Wigwam) (with a British vocalist) referring to the style of very early Jethro Tull and Procol Harum and Traffic's second album. Very good guitars, a bit of flute and saxophone, great playing from the rhythm section, and that ambient, spacious, lively sound characteristic of the music of the late 60s. Without doubt it is in the top ten of Scandinavian rock! In addition, three tracks from singles (known from the previous CD edition) and two NEVER-RELEASED 12-minute pieces: a live cover of the best Blodwyn Pig track and a great studio track from 1970! Note! This is not the same material as on the 'Swedish' album of the same title recorded a year later! A must! (JL) -

VARIOUS ARTISTS - VARIOUS ARTISTS – No Future, No Past: Finnish Speed & Thrash Metal Explosion 1986–1992 (2LP) - SVART RECORDS EDITIONprice: 200,00 PLN / 50,00 EUR
A compilation showing a cross-sectional picture of the Finnish speed and thrash metal scene from its most creative period. Instead of well-known albums, it features tracks coming mainly from rare 7" singles, demos and small releases. Alongside the more recognisable names, such as A.R.G. or Catalepsy, you can hear many bands that never got a full-length album, leaving behind only collectable recordings. The whole shows the diversity of Finnish thrash – from raw speed metal inspired by the European school, through the influence of American thrash, to pieces heralding the emerging death metal. The remastered sound improves the quality of the historic recordings without taking away their raw energy and underground character. The release comes with a richly illustrated booklet containing the histories of the bands, photographs and information about the pieces presented, which makes this compilation a valuable document of the Finnish metal scene of 1986–1992. Only one copy! -
WIGWAM - WIGWAM - Hard N' Horny - FIN Svart COLOURED VINYL Limited Pressprice: 180,00 PLN / 45,00 EUR
The debut album by the Finnish band, whose style is hard to define unambiguously. There is a lot of early Traffic and a bit of Colosseum, with an admixture of folk and blues. All the records from 1969-74 are worthy of sincere recommendation. An edition limited to 100 copies, on coloured vinyl. -
WIGWAM - WIGWAM - Fairyport (2CD) - FIN Svart Remastered Expanded Digipack Editionprice: 135,00 PLN / 33,75 EUR
A remastered edition of the third album (a double on vinyl) by the Finnish progressive band (with a slightly jazzy tinge), playing original music close to the work of Traffic, Procol Harum and If. Additionally a second CD with live recordings. Highly recommended! (JL) -
WIGWAM - WIGWAM - Tombstone Valentine - FIN Svart Records Limited Press - LISTENprice: 180,00 PLN / 45,00 EUR

Released in 1970 in Finland by the Love Records label, "Tombstone Valentine" contains 11 compositions in the vein of Procol Harum and Traffic, with jazzy touches. A 2019 reissue by the Finnish label Svart, on gold vinyl, limited to 500 copies.
