IRON MAIDEN - IRON MAIDEN - Live At The Rainbow December 1980 - The Complete Show - SPA Top Gear Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A CD limited to 500 copies contains a recording of the full 80-minute performance that took place at the Rainbow Theatre in London in December 1980 - two months before the release of the second LP, "Killers". The band (still with Paul Di'Anno on vocals) recorded a classic, 30-minute, stunning video at the time (with an identical cover to this CD), but the audio material never appeared on an official release. The disc contains the full performance (recorded by a fan on very decent equipment) together with the original versions of two tracks which on the official VHS were specially repeated, because the band made several mistakes! Fans know what I mean... The sound quality is really very good, and what a superb cover! It is a great treat for every fan of the band and of classic metal! A must! (JL) -
IRON MAIDEN - IRON MAIDEN - Maiden America - Killer World Tour 1981 - EU Dead Man Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Released in a beautiful, gatefold, laminated sleeve with a unique reproduction of a very rare Christmas card sent to the band's fans in 1980 (inside is a nice, large photo of the band from the States), a single European vinyl, LIMITED TO 500 COPIES, containing a recording of nearly 60 minutes of a radio-broadcast show that took place in Milwaukee, at the Summerfest festival, in June 1981, during the tour promoting the band's second LP - "Killers". The sound quality is very good - much better, fuller-sounding than on previous versions! It is certainly a great treat for fans of old Maiden and the NWOBHM! The 180-gram black vinyl is perfectly pressed! A must! NEW, not shrink-wrapped. -
IRON MAIDEN - IRON MAIDEN - Soundhouse Tapes And Rare Early Tracks 1978-1981 - SPA Top Gear Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Sensational! A CD limited to 500 copies containing rare or hard-to-find, single or compilation recordings by the band made in 1978-1981 with the first vocalist. I am from the old school, which values Paul Di'Anno more than (otherwise excellent) Bruce Dickinson, and the first two albums will never be beaten by the later titles... Above all, the greatest value lies in the tracks from the legendary EP 'The Soundhouse Tapes' - released privately in 1979 by the band on its own label Rock Hard in a run of 5000 copies and today in perfect condition worth up to 2000 euros. The only official CD version (a replica of the vinyl in a ginger cardboard sleeve - as on the cover of this CD) appeared in 2002 in a run of 666 copies and was available only to those lucky people who sent in coupons from the purchase of all the CD reissues together with an additional sum... 6.66 dollars. I have seen the CD with three tracks sold on eBay for 500-600 dollars, so it is probably worth risking buying this CD! In addition, plenty of superb, live and studio recordings from singles, EPs and compilations that have been hard to find on CD for years have been included, among them the entire maxi 'Maiden Japan' (in its five-track version), the very rare demo version of 'Running Free' (known from the German EMI single of 1980) and 'Strange World', from the same session as TST. The booklet includes, among other things, a copy of the back of the EP (with the original cut-out at the top) and reproductions of the full sleeves of the early singles! The sound is sensational - even slightly better than on the old editions! An absolute must! (JL) -

IRONBRIDGE - IRONBRIDGE - Ironbridge - EU Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A completely forgotten, sole album by an anonymous British band (the LP was released in 1973 exclusively in France - by EMI Columbia) playing very nice, melodic Beatles-like rock (acoustic/electric Harrison-style guitars) with elements of hard and progressive - something like Badfinger combined with a more dynamic Home, and at times even with the UFO of the time. Each side of the vinyl record was closed, meanwhile, by an excellent, progressive number with Mellotron! Very good production and zero boredom! Highly recommended! -

IVEYS (see also: Badfinger) - IVEYS - Maybe Tomorrow - GER Digipack Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
The Iveys are none other than the later Badfinger under an earlier name! Their only album (a downright model of ambitious pop with psychedelic touches) was released by Apple - only in Germany, Italy and Japan. Today it is a serious rarity - because of the Beatles connections, but also because of the quality of the music. The last track - "I've Been Waiting" is a psychedelic classic! Highly recommended! -

JACKSON BANTON EVANS & FRIENDS (THE LONG HELLO) - JACKSON, BANTON, EVANS AND FRIENDS (VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR) - Long Hello +1 - SWE Flawed Gems Remastered & Expanded - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This is classic Van der Graaf Generator from 1973, but... without vocalist Peter Hammill! On CD for the first time since 1993 (now in a much better sound version) and for the first time in the original, vinyl cover! The material was not released in Great Britain until 1976 - in a horrible white sleeve with the brown logo of The Long Hello, but 2 years earlier it came out in Italy (in a fairy-tale cover - on United Artists) under the original banner of "three surnames and friends" and with the title 'The Long Hello'... The album was made in 1973 - right after Hammill suspended VDGG's activity, while the other musicians still wanted to work together. Stylistically it is a chunk of charming, instrumental progressive rock decidedly in the vein of the somewhat calmer, but still 'psychedelically twisted' moods of early VDGG - with flute, saxophone, processed keyboards and acoustic guitar. The record also features two then-members of Rare Bird, including bassist Nic Potter - known to fans from the second and third Van Der Graaf Generator records! In addition a track from an unfinished session for a VDGG LP from 1973 that was never made is included. A MUST! -

JACKSON HEIGHTS (see also: Nice/Flaming Youth/Refugee - JACKSON HEIGHTS - Ragamuffins Fool / Bump 'n' Grind - EU Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Third and fourth albums (both once released by Vertigo) by a British, folk-progressive formation led by Lee Jackson - the former vocalist and bassist of The Nice. Unlike Keith Emerson's band, JH's music was characterised by almost ballad-like, largely acoustic (sometimes folky, sometimes progressive) sounds built on acoustic guitars, keyboards (piano, mellotron) and percussion instruments. On both albums the drum parts were played by Michael Giles himself, and keyboards were played by Phil Collins's former colleague from Flaming Youth - Brian Chatton. -

A superb second album by the band. Decidedly more rock than the debut, and containing music stylistically close to East Of Eden (from the debut), Jethro Tull, Quintessence and Tonton Macoute. Plenty of eastern elements, varied arrangements, flute, saxophone, and so on. 2022 edition remastered from the original tapes, with one bonus track. A must! (JL) -
