MAD CURRY (see also: Shampoo) - MAD CURRY - Mad Curry +2 - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Together with Laurelie, Waterloo and Irish Coffee, the formation Mad Curry belonged to the pioneering group of progressive formations that appeared in Belgium at the very end of the 60s. Originally released in the form of a poster folding out "into six", the band's only album contained jazzy, still slightly psychedelic, fairly melodic, but already decidedly progressive playing typical of that period (1969-1970), based on the interplay of saxophone, flute and Hammond organ (but without guitar) - modelled above all on the work of early Van Der Graaf Generator and Brian Auger with Julie Driscoll and the Trinity. Mad Curry's vocalist was somewhat reminiscent of the then very popular Julie, although personally I would sooner compare her to Carol Grimes (of Delivery) and to the vocalist of Julian's Treatment. In addition two tracks from the only single, released before the album was made, are included. This is an obligatory item for all fans of old, European sounds from the turn of the decades. Highly recommended! -

RECREATION - RECREATION - Music Or Not Music - GER Press - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
A little-known Belgian band with two records to its name. Heavy Hammonds, bass, drums and guitar dominate. A sensational, second album. The short tracks form an eclectic, 40-minute suite. Somewhat "Zappa-esque" progression to the full - plenty of sound effects, sudden changes of style and rhythm. Recommended! 2016 German reissue. -

RECREATION - RECREATION - Recreation / Music Or Not Music (1970-72) - AUS Progressive Line Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A little-known Belgian band with two records to its name. Heavy Hammond, bass, drums and (on the "second") guitar dominate. The debut is somewhat reminiscent of the work of The Nice and Rare Bird combined with Brian Auger's Trinity - though it could be more varied. The second album, however, is stunning! The short tracks form an eclectic, 40-minute suite. Somewhat "Zappa-like" progression in full measure - plenty of sound effects, sudden changes of style and rhythm. Recommended! -

WATERLOO - WATERLOO - First Battle +2 - FRA Absinthe Expanded Limited Press - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A great-sounding reissue, with two rare bonus tracks! Released at the very beginning of 1970, the sole album by the Belgian Waterloo is wonderful, very atmospheric and at the same time hard-hitting music in the vein of Jethro Tull and Uriah Heep, all drizzled with the psychedelic sauce of the late 60s. Plenty of Hammond organ, tons (1000 kg+) of flute, great compositions. The track "Why May I Not Know?" is one of my most favourite recordings of all time! To the original material, a track from a single and a 7-minute piece never released on vinyl have been added at the end of each side! The original, mega-rare and much sought-after French edition on the Vogue label, in great condition, is worth about 2000 euros, so 100 times less for a nice reissue (looking like a perfect, new original) sounds pretty good :-) Laminated sleeve and great sound! A MUST! -
