"The Nuclear Blast Recordings" is a cross-sectional document of the second, mature period of Candlemass's activity – a band that in the 80s defined epic doom metal, and after two decades proved it could refresh that formula creatively without losing its identity. The five-disc box covers four studio albums: "Candlemass" (2005), "King of the Grey Islands" (2007), "Lucifer Rising" (2008), "Death Magic Doom" (2009) and live material - "Ashes to Ashes – Live (Sweden Rock Festival 2009)". EUROPE - EUROPE - Europe - EU Music On CD Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The debut and genuinely great album by the Swedes known to almost everyone for the pompous and at the same time hit-filled "The Final Countdown". Three years earlier the band was at the forefront of European traditional metal - combining elements of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Rainbow and the little-known (also from Sweden) Silver Mountain. Juicy riff-driven playing with plenty of classicising guitar parts! Once again I repeat - forget "The Final Countdown" - here the band played quite differently! -

EUROPE - EUROPE - Wings Of Tomorrow - UK Lemon Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Remastered edition of the second album by the once popular Swedes. As with the excellent debut (Maiden and Judas in one) - it was different, sharper and decidedly more feisty playing than that on "Final Countdown" - closer to the aesthetics of Heavy Load, Judas Priest and Riot, but also UFO and Thin Lizzy. I definitely recommend this album, although I know that among most fans of heavy music the name Europe is not held in the highest regard... (JL) -
FLASKET BRINNER - FLASKET BRINNER - Flasket Brinner (1st Album) - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! Brilliant debut by the progressive Swedes (previously known from, among others, the CD "Flasket" from 1972). Recorded at the end of 1970, almost entirely live, the album contained very catchy, at moments almost hypnotic, improvised material that is an original and unique blend of the style of King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Traffic and Deep Purple (saxophone, flute, organ, electric guitar, bass, drums). Fortunately there is no question of 'art for art's sake', and the individual tracks (four fairly long and four very short) had a fairly clear construction and in their own way were 'catchy'. Alongside the album by the group Panta Rei and perhaps the debut of Kebnekaise, it is my favourite progressive record from Sweden! A MUST! -

GLENNGARD, MATS (see also: Kebnekaise) - MATS GLENNGARD - Kosterlage - SWE Flawed Gems Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! Excellent solo album by the guitarist/violinist of the Swedish folk-progressive group Kebnekaise - recorded with the accompaniment of musicians from that band, as well as from Flasket Brinner and Jason's Fleece. This is superb, heavy-progressive, slightly folky playing - combining short, folky interludes (four tracks of 1-2 minutes each) with heavyish, intense, hippie rock (the other four tracks of 5-11 minutes) in the vein of November, Saga and Life - with excellent, improvised electric guitar and violin parts and occasional Hammond organ. This is an absolute must for all lovers of old Swedish playing! -
GLORY BELLS BAND - GLORY BELL'S BAND - Dressed In Black - SWE Heavy Sounds Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A remastered edition of the great debut album released in 1982 by one of the more forgotten European bands of the early 80s! Superb guitar hard rock in the style of Accept (from the period of the LP "Breaker"), Judas Priest, Heavy Load and Deep Purple. Highly recommended! (JL) -

A reissue in a laminated sleeve, almost indistinguishable in appearance from the 1984 original, of the only, but superb, album by a Swedish band playing top-shelf traditional metal - in the style of Heavy Load, Witch Cross and Judas Priest, and showing strong influences of the NWOBHM movement (Iron Maiden and Diamond Head). Many fans consider "The Unknown" the best achievement of Swedish metal of the 80s, and the original vinyl now costs 500-600 euros! This record will certainly delight all lovers of old heavy playing! Excellent sound! A must! Condition: NEW, but unsealed. -
GOTHAM CITY - GOTHAM CITY - The Unknown (+ Black Writs EP) - SWE Flawed Gems Remastered & Expanded - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Originally released in 1984 by the small label Fingerprint (among others Nemesis), the only, but superb, album by a Swedish group playing top-shelf traditional metal - in the style of Heavy Load, Witch Cross and Glory Bells Band - showing strong influences of the NWOBHM movement (and groups such as Diamond Head, Satan, Cloven Hoof). In addition the very rare EP 'Black Writs', released in 1983, and two tracks from the ultra-rare debut single are included. This record will certainly delight all fans of old metal. Great sound! A must!
