MAGMA - Kobaia (2CD) - FRA Seventh Records Remastered Digipack Edition

A remastered, double French edition (in a tri-fold digipak) of the excellent debut by the cult French band (singing in its own language), playing here progressive rock A.D. 1970 with influences of jazz and classical music. This music, full of surprises and truly original, can be compared to early Gong, King Crimson and Ame Son, with more than a pinch of John Coltrane. I admit that I am not a particular fan of Magma, but this debut, kept in a fairly classic style (a double on vinyl and only on CD named "Kobaia"...) is simply excellent! Highly recommended! (JL)
