LEFT BANKE - Walk Away Renée/Pretty Ballerina - Universal Music Japan Edition

Released in 1967 by the Smash label, the debut album by this somewhat forgotten though truly excellent New York band took its title from two hits by the group released as singles in 1966 (in the United States they achieved considerable popularity). Both title tracks are beautiful, richly arranged pop-psychedelic and very melodic songs kept in a slightly baroque mood. In fact the other compositions are on an equally high level and will certainly appeal to lovers of the then work of The Zombies, the Beatles, the Lovin' Spoonful and also The Byrds - and that is probably a decent recommendation!!!
