CLAPTON, ERIC - Eric Clapton – Life in 12 Bars (2CD) - EU Press - UNIKALNY CDprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
This is not an ordinary "greatest hits" compilation, but a well-thought-out cross-section of Eric Clapton's whole career – from his earliest recordings to later, more reflective pieces. The album is the soundtrack to the documentary about Clapton of the same title - and that is exactly how it sounds: like a musical biography. The first disc focuses on the roots – raw, electric blues and the British scene of the 60s. You can hear the young Clapton in full-energy form here: sharp riffs, inspirations from Muddy Waters and a pure, unpolished style. Recordings with The Yardbirds or John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers show how quickly he was growing into one of the most important guitarists of his era. The second disc is a more mature Clapton – more emotion, more space and a more personal tone. Classics appear from Derek and the Dominos and solo recordings, including "Tears in Heaven". CLAPTON, ERIC - ERIC CLAPTON - No Reason To Cry - EU Remastered Editionprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Sixth solo album, from 1976, recorded with the participation of a galaxy of celebrities (including Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr and Ron Wood). It did not help Mr E.C. much, but at least the record is very decent and decidedly better than the previous ones... (K)
