WISHBONE ASH - WISHBONE ASH - First Lights - April 1970 - May 1971 Studio Sessions - FRA Verne Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A beautifully released (in a laminated sleeve with nice photographs from the earliest period), superb vinyl edition from the Verne label of the band's first, 40-minute professional recording session, recorded for MCA in the spring of 1970, that is, a few months before the recording of the LP "Wishbone Ash", and found after many years on a so-called Apple label acetate! Five recordings later ended up in changed versions on the re-recorded debut, two are completely unknown, plus the one known from the LP "Pilgrimage" (the short, instrumental "Alone") - here in a charming, somewhat more expansive version with vocals. Additionally two recordings from the sessions for "Pilgrimage" (May 1971) are included: "Where Were You Tomorrow" (studio version!) and the over 6-minute, genuinely wonderfully played "Alone" with vocals! The sound quality is ideal, and the 52-minute black vinyl is perfectly pressed, and also sounds somewhat better and cleaner (without the slight hiss from the acetate) than the CD version ("First Light") and much better than the earlier version from 10 years ago! A MUST! Condition: NEW, sealed. -

WISHBONE ASH - WISHBONE ASH - Live Dates Volume Two (1976-1980) - AUT Enigmatic Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! An excellent double album recorded during various performances by the quartet in 1976-1980 and released by MCA in 1980 - it has finally got its CD debut! This Austrian CD, made under licence from Universal, contains exactly 80 minutes of music and compared with the vinyl edition is shorter by... a minute or two in total of long ovations at the beginning and end of the record and several seconds of applause between tracks. Importantly, unlike the vinyl edition, the CD has no gaps between tracks, and the individual pieces (or rather the applause) flow smoothly into one another, which gives Live Dates Vol. 2 much more drama. As for the music, there is no need to praise it! The band was in excellent form, and the fantastic sound quality only contributes to an even better experience of this rock classic! I admit that I have never heard Wishbone Ash sound so good and clear on CD! This edition sounds much better than the somewhat muddy Real Gone label CD. Highly recommended! (JL) -
WISHBONE ASH - WISHBONE ASH - Live In New Jersey, January 1974 - FRA On The Air Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Released in France in a limited run, an unofficial, live, 80-minute recording made in New Jersey in January 1974 for the cult radio programme King Biscuit Flower Hour. These were the last weeks in the band for guitarist Ted Turner and, considering how little live material was recorded with the first line-up, this is a real treat for fans of the band! The setlist is similar to the 2LP "Live Dates" (but the sound quality is even marginally better!), but the band played, among others, "Sometime World" and "Where Were You Tomorrow" - the latter accompanied by two musicians from the Climax Blues Band! As I already mentioned - the sound quality is perfect! Below I have included links to the music, but the quality of this CD is 20% clearer than the average (but still very good-sounding) YouTube transfer. A must! (JL) -

WISHBONE ASH - WISHBONE ASH - Live At The BBC 1971-1972 (2LP) - FRA Verne Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
A fantastic, double, limited album of nearly 2 hours, released in an attractive, varnished sleeve with nice photos, containing, among other things, a complete, 70-minute concert from London from 1972. It is worth knowing that on the CD version ("Argus" deluxe 2CD) a cut-down version circulates, without the tracks "Jailbait" and "The Pilgrim"! In addition, 45 minutes of studio sessions from the period of the first 3 albums - including another 2 recordings from the period of the LP "Argus" that never made it onto an official CD! Moreover, a version of "The Pilgrim" never published on CD! The whole thing sounds perfect and is superbly pressed! It is hard to find a better title in the history of this wonderful band! A MUST! Condition: NEW, but not shrink-wrapped. -
WISHBONE ASH - WISHBONE ASH - Live In London 1978 - FRA On The Air Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Released in France in a limited run, unofficial live material recorded by the BBC in November 1978 at London's Hammersmith Odeon and released then in 100 copies on very rare, radio, collectable BBC Transcription Service vinyl. Please note the rarely performed "Queen Of Torture" from the debut album! "F.U.B.B." - known from "Live Dates II" - not included here, came from the same concert. So we are dealing with an almost catalogue album! Perfect sound quality - as good as, for example, the CD "Live Dates II" and the CD "Live In Tokyo 1978". 60 minutes of music. Modest but tasteful booklet. Highly recommended! -
WISHBONE ASH - WISHBONE ASH - Live In Tokyo 1978 (Japan Only 1979 MCA Album) - AU Enigmatic Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
What a surprise! At last, after years of waiting, the excellent live album recorded in November 1978 and released in early 1979 by MCA - only in Japan and unfortunately never reissued - has come out on CD! As for the content, we are dealing with 40 minutes of material that is fantastic in sound and performance, in which 3 classic numbers (F.U.B.B., Blowin Free, Jailbait) are combined with 2 newer titles, such as the catchy You See Red and the undoubtedly classic, 10-minute The Way Of The World. As I already mentioned, the sound is excellent, the band played flawlessly, so it is hardly possible not to own this CD! Highly recommended! -
