NEKTAR - NEKTAR - ...Sounds Like This +8 (2CD) - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
Released in 1973, the third album in their discography (a double on vinyl), for many listeners the best in the band's career - it contains juicy, rocking, at times slightly bluesy playing in the vein of the then work of Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and, of course, the many powerful-sounding German bands of that period - recorded "live" in the studio. Heavy, progressive playing was rarely better! Remastered 2022 reissue, with an additional CD containing tracks recorded in the same studio, but on different dates (six on 12 October 1972, and two on 19 February 1973). A must! (JL) -
NEKTAR - NEKTAR - A Tab In The Ocean +4 (2LP) - GRE Missing Vinyl Remastered Expanded Press - LISTENprice: 185,00 PLN / 46,25 EUR
The second album in the discography - regarded by most fans as the best of the band's career, although "Journey..." and "Sounds..." are also serious contenders for that title... The first part is filled by an 18-minute suite; the second by five shorter pieces - linked together anyway. The whole closes with "King Of Twilight" - owner of one of the most mighty riffs in the history of rock (once covered with poor results by Iron Maiden). All in all it is a combination of classic progressive rock in the vein of Pink Floyd and Hawkwind, with the guitar fire characteristic of German bands. 2011 remastered Greek edition, with an additional vinyl containing previously unreleased recordings. A MUST! (JL) -
