METALLICA - METALLICA - Live At The Keystone 1983 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A 59-minute album released by Verne Records on limited black vinyl and in a very attractive, laminated sleeve, documenting the band during the tour promoting the debut "Kill 'Em All" (1983). The concert, recorded on Halloween (31 October), had previously appeared in the multi-disc CD box set "Kill 'Em All" and is well recorded (straight from the mixing desk) - perhaps not perfectly, but given the conditions it would have been hard to do better. The record contains the world premiere of "Creeping Death", "Fight Fire With Fire", "Ride The Lightning" and "Call Of Ktulu". An absolute must! Condition: MINT, NEW, UNSEALED. (JL) -

METALLICA - METALLICA - Garage Inc. Promo Tour - Live In New York 1998 (2LP) - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
A full edition, limited to 500 copies, on double black vinyl, of a superb, 100-minute Metallica performance (still with Jason Newsted), professionally recorded at the Roseland Ballroom in New York, in November 1998, during the tour promoting the brilliant album "Garage Inc.". It was the only time that Metallica played exclusively compositions 'that they would have liked to have written themselves' and the band sounded sensational! So there are recordings here by Budgie, Mercyful Fate, Black Sabbath, Queen, Mercyful Fate, Diamond Head, Thin Lizzy and others. Additionally three rare recordings from the performance recorded the day before in Philadelphia ("Killing Time", "Blitzkrieg" and "So What") are included! The very attractive, laminated cover contains several nice photographs, and the sound quality is simply excellent! Much better than the old VHS version from YouTube. This is an absolute must for all fans of heavy playing! Condition: MINT (NEW, UNSEALED). -

METALLICA - METALLICA - Live In Gothenburg 1987 - SPA Top Gear Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, a superb, 80-minute recording of Metallica's show in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 13 February 1987! This concert took place three days after the band's show in Katowice - it wrapped up the first European tour with the then-new bassist, Jason Newsted! While the Katowice show exists on bootlegs in dreadful sound quality, Gothenburg was broadcast on the radio and in my opinion, along with Seattle 1989 (from the official box set "Live Shit & Binge"), it is the best and best-recorded Metallica concert of the entire 80s!!! The sound quality is almost ideal, the setlist comes from the first three albums and is a dream! It is hard to imagine a better setlist! The band played solidly, cleanly and a little sharper than on the records, yet still selectively! Besides, it was the last tour on which James Hetfield sang in a higher key - just two years later he began saving his voice... The booklet contains a dozen or so really nice photos from that period, including group shots with Poland's Kat! This is an absolute must for all fans of heavy music! (JL) -

The band was in mind-blowing form, the set of recordings simply superb, and the sound quality great, though because of the mix slightly inferior to the legendary Seattle performance, from the same tour. METALLICA - METALLICA - Kompletna ilustrowana historia - MARTIN POPOFFprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
Here is another of Martin Popoff's more than 40 books – one of the most prolific music journalists in the broadly understood Rock world. A richly illustrated history of the world's best-known metal band (presented in a nutshell, without needless gossip and deliberation about the private lives of the band members, with really few exceptions), containing nothing but hard facts about releases, concerts, the making of the recordings and over 300 unique photographs (from various periods of the band, concert posters, tickets, passes and T-shirts), published in a large format, in full colour, on coated paper. The history described begins shortly before the formation of Metallica, where, under the influence of a fascination with the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal and resistance to the then dominant trend of Glam Rock, the idea of starting a band is born, and then Metallica's first line-up and first tracks come into being, which set off an avalanche of many later events, bringing the band to the very peak of popularity that lasts to this day. The content of the book usually revolves around the events connected with each album released, presenting descriptions of each release, short analyses of individual tracks with passing information about the lyrical and graphic side. The information contained in the book is supported by direct statements, thoughts and reflections of the musicians (current and former) as well as managers or producers. Of course, apart from presenting the band's road to the very peak of fame, there is no lack of recollections concerning the commotion around the band's status and the difficult period in Metallica's history, from the release of the controversial album "Load" to the appearance of the album "St. Anger" and the presentation of the motives and decisions taken at that time concerning the further image, as well as the musical style adopted. Since the band's story went on, the last pages of this book bring us further provocative events (such as the latest line-up changes – the replacement of Jason Newsted with Robert Trujillo and the realisation of the "Lulu" project with Lou Reed) and the triumphant return to roots with the album "Death Magnetic". Unfortunately every publication has its end, and a good ending to the book is the musicians' statements about a possible end of their career, and moreover variety is provided by interesting reviews of the band's studio albums (written by well-known music journalists) and a full, detailed discography, descriptions of selected singles, live material and videography. Today we already know that after this unofficial publication was written the band released another great album "Hardwired…To Self-Destruct" and is still in great form, and so this is not the end of the story. 192 pages, large format, richly illustrated, full colour, hardback. -

METALLICA - METALLICA - Live In Gothenburg 1987 (2LP) - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, on two black vinyl records, a French full edition (including the bass and guitar solos - omitted on the 80-minute Top Gear CD version) of Metallica's superb 90-minute show in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 13 February 1987. In addition, three rare recordings of great quality from the "Garage EP" tour ("Leper Messiah", "Blitzkrieg" and "Last Caress") have been included! This concert took place three days after the band's show in Katowice - it wrapped up the first European tour with the then-new bassist Jason Newsted! METALLICA - METALLICA - No Life 'Til Leather - Early Demos 1982-1983 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Released in France, in a run of 500 copies, the album gathers the contents of three legendary demo tapes ("No Life 'Til Leather", "Power Metal" and "Megaforce Demo") professionally recorded in the studio and released/handed out on cassettes by the band (mainly in the line-up James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, Ron McGovney and Lars Ulrich + Cliff Burton on two recordings from the third demo) between the spring of 1982 and the spring of 1983. The running time of the record did not allow for one recording to be included, namely the version of "Hit The Lights" known to fans, released as early as 1982 by the Metal Blade label on the legendary compilation "Metal Massacre". The quality of this 52-minute and many times reissued material FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY (apart from the cassette tape released a few years ago on Record Store Day by the band) is perfect - 80% of the record sounds like a catalogue, somewhat raw-produced, studio album! Importantly - on this occasion the tape speed was corrected, the hiss removed and the sound brightened! And here you can clearly hear how very talented and how immensely powerful this band was! The laminated, very attractive cover contains several rare, nice photographs of the then teenage band! An absolute must! Condition: MINT (NEW, UNSEALED). -

METALLICA - SO WHAT! Dobrzy, wściekli i brzydcy. Oficjalna ilustrowana kronika zespołu Metallica - Pod redakcją STEFFANA CHIRAZI - OSTATNIE EGZEMPLARZEprice: 300,00 PLN / 75,00 EUR
OUT OF PRINT FOR A LONG TIME! "So What! Dobrzy, wściekli i brzydcy", the first official illustrated chronicle of Metallica, drawing on the magazine's huge archival resources, becomes almost an encyclopedia for all Metallica fans. From the very beginning in the 80s as young, fascinating, unpolished, loud and unknown to anyone, up to the latest album, selling in millions of copies, "St. Anger" (containing the title track, the 2004 Grammy winner), Metallica earned a reputation as one of the most acclaimed and hardest-playing bands of all time. Based on material created for their official fan club magazine of the same title, ''So What!: Dobrzy, wciekli i brzydcy'' is a unique Metallica commemorative album. It contains transcripts of unpublished round-table discussions, extracts from diaries, and personal comments scribbled here and there by the band members - as well as festival reports, the band's answers to fans' questions, and about a thousand rare photos - "So What!" uncovers many milestones and memories of the longest-lasting and best-known metal band in the world. The book also candidly shows Metallica's darker days: the search for a new bassist, details of the rehab treatment of vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield, notes taken during their protracted hiatus from 1999 to 2002. As the only complete and fully authorised book of its kind, "So What!" offers the legions of Metallica fans a universal pass to the band, onto the stage, backstage and even more. Founded in 1981 in the suburbs of Los Angeles by James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, today METALLICA consists of Hetfield, Ulrich, guitarist Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo. STEFFAN CHIRAZI first met Metallica in 1984 as a seventeen-year-old rock journalist. Now, twenty years later, he is the editor-in-chief of the magazine "So What!". Metallica and Chirazi live in San Francisco. In autumn 1993, Metallica had just finished a tour consisting of 302 concerts, and had sold 15 million copies of the 'Black' album worldwide. It was then time, as Metallica decided, to speak directly to the fans through their own publications devoted to a completely uncensored look inside the band. At the beginning of 1994 they began to publish the magazine "So What!", intended exclusively for members of their fan club. Ten years later, that magazine remains the only printed medium where you can meet and get to know Metallica closely. 286 pages, format 28 x 22 cm, hardback. (Kagra, 2005)
