METALLICA - Live In Gothenburg 1987 (2LP) - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RARE

Limited to 500 copies, on two black vinyl records, a French full edition (including the bass and guitar solos - omitted on the 80-minute Top Gear CD version) of Metallica's superb 90-minute show in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 13 February 1987. In addition, three rare recordings of great quality from the "Garage EP" tour ("Leper Messiah", "Blitzkrieg" and "Last Caress") have been included! This concert took place three days after the band's show in Katowice - it wrapped up the first European tour with the then-new bassist Jason Newsted! While the Katowice show exists on bootlegs in dreadful sound quality, Gothenburg was broadcast on the radio and in my opinion, along with Seattle 1989 (from the official box set "Live Shit & Binge"), it is the best and best-recorded Metallica concert of the entire 80s!!! The sound quality is almost ideal, the setlist comes from the first three albums and is a dream! The band played solidly, cleanly and a little sharper than on the records, yet still selectively! Besides, it was the last tour on which James Hetfield sang in a higher key - just two years later he began saving his voice... A superb, laminated sleeve and very good sound quality! Condition: NEW, not shrink-wrapped. This is an absolute must for all fans of heavy music! (JL)
