MAJORITY (MAJORITY ONE) - MAJORITY ONE - Majority One - US Digipack Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A British formation (also recording under the name THE MAJORITY - see the Rev-Ola CD) drawing on the work of The Beatles, early The Moody Blues and above all early Bee Gees. This American CD contains the catalogue album (recorded in 1971 but sounding like 1968-69) and 7 bonus tracks - including Get Back Home (released only in Europe - on the B-side of a single) - an absolute psychedelic killer with a monstrously overdriven guitar! Recommended! (JL) -
MAKI, CARMEN & OZ (see also: Blues Creation) - CARMEN MAKI & OZ - Carmen Maki & Oz - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Vocalist Carmen Maki was once called the 'Japanese Janis Joplin', and although many people are outraged by such a comparison, in my humble opinion Janis never made such a wonderful (as a whole) album as Carmen did with the heavy rock group Blues Creation (in 1971)! In any case, in 1974 the vocalist founded the group Oz, and her debut (sung in Japanese) album came out in January 1975 - dominated by long, extended, heavyish progressive tracks with keyboards (mainly a combination of Hammond organ and piano), modelled on the sound of Deep Purple and Blues Creation, but not free of moods à la Pink Floyd or Barclay James Harvest. Lovers of classic playing will certainly be very pleased with this record, and Carmen Maki herself sang superbly! The CD was mastered from the original vinyl and sounds superb! Very highly recommended! -
MAKI, CARMEN + BLUES CREATION (see also: Dew) - CARMEN MAKI / BLUES CREATION - Carmen Maki / Blues Creation - EU Once Again Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
This wonderful and unique record, released in the summer of 1971, was made by the Japanese vocalist Carmen Maki (previously known for folk or pop songs) with the participation of the heavy rock band Blues Creation. In general I'm not fond of female vocals, but despite certain limitations, the beautiful Carmen, imitating Janis Joplin and Grace Slick a little, is simply sensational here! The whole material was created in exactly the same session as the classic LP "Demon And Eleven Children", credited solely to Blues Creation (released a month earlier), and the band, playing genuinely heavy, bluesy rock here (a bit in the vein of the first side of "Led Zeppelin III"), was as usual in top form and certainly did not hold back! I repeat: this is a splendid album without a single weaker moment, although when I discovered that the author of the opening "Understand" was the American band Fantasy (1970), I was slightly disappointed... The sound quality is excellent! A must! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

A European, great-sounding edition in a gatefold sleeve (modelled on the Japanese original from 1971, now worth about 1000 euros)! This wonderful and unique record was made by the 'Japanese Janis Joplin' - Carmen Maki with the participation of the heavy rock band Blues Creation. I am not fond of female vocals, but despite certain limitations C.M. is simply sensational. All the material was made in exactly the same session as the Blues Creation LP "Demon And Eleven Children" (released a month earlier), and the band, playing genuinely heavy, bluesy rock here (something like the first side of "Led Zeppelin III"...), was as usual on top form. I repeat: it is a BRILLIANT album without a single weaker moment! The pressing quality is perfect. A must! -

German edition from Ohrwaschl (the label behind Out Of Focus, Nosferatu and Murphy Blend) of a great (and unfortunately worth over 3000 euros on vinyl) and superbly produced album by a German band that is one of the best examples of the German underground, where rock with influences of blues, psychedelia and even classical music resulted in an extended, multi-part and truly stylistically varied suite. A combination of the style of Jethro Tull, Ten Years After, rock Zappa and Emerson Lake And Palmer. Alongside the debut of Rufus Zuphall it is the best German album released as a private pressing.
