HURDY GURDY - HURDY GURDY - Hurdy Gurdy +5 - EU Once Again Expanded Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Recorded in 1971, but released at the beginning of 1972 by British CBS, the only album by an excellent band from Denmark playing heavy, progressive rock in the European style. This is an absolute masterpiece of the genre started by Cream and continued by Led Zeppelin, Free, Taste and the Swedish November. The English-sung record was dominated by a somewhat sleepy, psychedelic, yet at the same time heavy and clear sound with plenty of concise improvisations. There is no lack of a good pinch of blues and even sitar psychedelia - simply a very professional, thrilling and almost perfect record! Additionally 3 very good recordings from the recording session for the album are included, as well as 2 tracks from the ultra-rare single on the Spectator label (with the sleeve reproduced in the booklet) from 1970. NOTE! This CD contains the original, correct, vinyl mix from 1972 and not the remixed, partly cut material (additionally supplemented with a distinct reverb) once released by Karma Music. The only fragment from the remix is the final 2 minutes of the 10-minute-long track 'Lost In The Jungle', which are included. A MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
HURDY GURDY - HURDY GURDY - Hurdy Gurdy +3 - EU Sun King Expanded Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A great band from Denmark. Its only album was once released in England by CBS. Heavy, though clear, somewhat psychedelic sound, a bit of blues, plenty of improvisation - simply a very professional, great record. 2024 edition, with three bonus tracks from the album's recording session. Gatefold sleeve, sealed. Highly recommended! (JL) -
I DRIVE - I DRIVE - I Drive - SWE Flawed Gems Remastered - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Remastered edition of the only album (recorded in 1971, but released in 1972 only in Germany by Metronome) by a very good British band playing heavy, dynamic rock (with organ) with progressive touches in the style of Uriah Heep, Deep Purple and Asterix. 80 minutes of music. The disc holds exactly all the recordings known from the old double version from the Second Battle label. Highly recommended! -
ICARUS (see also: Wolf / Soft Machine) - ICARUS - Marvel World Of Icarus - EU Ethelion Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Another very attractive and great-sounding reissue from the Ethelion label of the only longplayer, originally released in 1972, by a forgotten British band, playing a mixture of rock, jazz and psychedelia. Catchy and very concise compositions, plenty of juicy guitars, nice parts for wind instruments (especially flute) - a bit like a combination of Heaven, Hannibal and If. The original vinyl was withdrawn from sale at the demand of Marvel Comics and today it is a considerable rarity worth around 600 euros! More about the band and this record can be read in the second volume of 'Brytyjski Rock'! Highly recommended! Condition: NEW, but unsealed. -

Released in 1972, a remastered European edition of the only long-player by a forgotten British band playing a mixture of rock, jazz and psychedelia. Guitarist John Etheridge later played in Wolf and Soft Machine. Highly recommended! (JL) -
IF - IF - Live At The BBC 1970-1972 - EU Atos / Verne Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
This limited, excellently recorded, 58-minute LP gathers superb, rare material by the best (alongside Colosseum) British jazz-rock band, taken from radio sessions (1970-1972) for the BBC. The first side of the record is filled by two sessions from 1970-1971, that is, from the period of the second and third albums (of course in altered versions). The second side is filled by an exquisite, half-hour concert recorded in summer 1972, just after the release of the fourth record. I must stress that the band plays slightly more dynamically here than on the catalogue albums, and the sound quality is simply ideal - as on the studio titles! In my opinion this is the best IF I have heard! It is exquisite to listen to from start to finish! A must! NEW, SEALED. -
IF - IF - If 4 - UK Repertoire Remastered Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR

IF - IF - Live At The BBC (2CD) - UK Repertoire Editionprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR

IF - IF - British Radio Sessions 1970-1972 - FRA On The Air Edition - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Superb material coming from radio sessions (1970-1972) once pressed by the BBC Transcription Service on super rare, promotional vinyls. Three studio sessions (ten tracks in all, lasting over 50 minutes) come from the period of the first three albums, and the excellent, half-hour concert was recorded after the fourth record was made. The studio material had not been published on CD before, while the live part appeared among the bonus tracks on the old CD version of "If 4". I must stress that the band plays better here than on the catalogue albums, and the sound quality is simply ideal - like on studio titles! What is more, only one composition is performed twice ("Seldom Seen Sam" live), so the whole is superb to listen to - like a kind of "The Best Of If"! The run of this CD is 500 copies and it will not be available forever. A MUST! -
IGUANA (UK) - IGUANA - Iguana - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! The only, very good album by a British, jazz-progressive group also drawing on the style of soul, harking back to the record by Gass, Swegas, Demon Fuzz, Chicago and Lighthouse. Swinging, sophisticated and richly arranged playing with a vocal reminiscent of Mike Patto. Don Shinn - known to few from the fantastic, progressive LP "Takes a Trip"! - appeared as a guest on piano! Recommended! -

The excellent third album by the band, from 1972. More psychedelic and generally somewhat gentler than the 'full-blooded progressive' LP "Released", but just as good! 2014 remastered edition, in a digipak. Highly recommended! (JL) -

The most interesting album in this German group's discography - the most dynamic, concise - the only one recorded with the original vocalist. Musically a combination of the style of Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and very early Eloy. A must! -

JERICHO (see also: Jericho Jones / Churchills) - Jericho - Guerssen Press Edition (LP - VINYL LP)price: 155,00 PLN / 38,75 EUR
A remastered reissue of one of the best heavy-progressive albums in the history of rock! This album, released by A&M (and totally passed over at the time), is real guitar dynamite! This excellent record was filled with 5 tracks (including 3 lasting between 8 and 11 minutes) on the border of heavy rock and typical British progression (without keyboards) - with occasional entries of flute or acoustic guitar - a bit in the style of the sorely missed T2. To tell the truth, it is hard to find in British rock a record as intense as Jericho! Forget Leaf Hound, Jerusalem or Incredible Hog... Neither Budgie, nor Led Zeppelin, nor even Black Sabbath ever delivered such fire as the track Ethiopia opening the whole! I admit that I once did not value this album as much as I do now. Today for me it is a hard rock top twenty of all time! -
JERICHO (see also: Jericho Jones / Churchills) - JERICHO - Jericho +2 - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
In the very beginning there was the psychedelic Israeli formation Churchills (with an excellent LP from 1968, worth over 3000 euros in the original), then in 1971 the musicians (with a British vocalist/guitarist) went to the British Isles, changed their name to Jericho Jones and released a classic, truly great hard rock album. Right after that they shortened the name to Jericho and as a result in 1972 one of the best heavy-progressive albums in the history of rock was made! This album, released by A&M (and completely ignored in its day), is real guitar dynamite! This excellent record was filled with five tracks (three of them lasting between 8 and 11 minutes) on the border of heavy rock and typical British progression (without keyboards) - with occasional entries of flute or acoustic guitar - somewhat in the style of the sorely missed T2. To tell the truth, it is hard to find in British rock a record as intense as Jericho! Forget Leaf Hound, Jerusalem or Incredible Hog... Neither Budgie, nor Led Zeppelin, nor even Black Sabbath ever rocked as hard as the opening track "Ethiopia"! I admit that I once did not rate this album as highly as I do now. At present it is for me a hard rock top twenty of all time! Plus two tracks from the last single. A MUST! -
JERUSALEM - JERUSALEM - Jerusalem +5 - UK Talking Elephant Expanded Card Sleeve Edition - LISTENprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
British edition of the only, but superb, album, once released by Deram, by a British heavy rock band playing in the style of Black Sabbath, Budgie and Clear Blue Sky - produced by Ian Gillan! No organs, just guitar riffs and crushing (usually slow) playing! Unfortunately the Purple vocalist did not especially shine and the somewhat muffled production is the only flaw of this truly classic and very heavy-sounding record! Plus five tracks, including four recorded in 2009. A must! (JL) -
