Andy Summers (years later in The Police) and Zoot Money played right afterwards in The Animals (on the LP "Love Is"), while the drummer Colin Allen played, among others, in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Stone The Crows and Focus. Italian reissue by Akarma, in a stiff gatefold sleeve (with a booklet), of a great album whose status is almost legendary! Originally released in 1972 in 60 copies of the LP, it contained a heavy variety of rock, with fuzzed guitar and long solos - all in a progressive sauce. In my opinion, alongside Grannie, it is the best album among the British so-called "private pressings". ATTENTION! The original British vinyl in very good condition is worth over 6000 euros!!! A beautifully produced three-disc box set containing recordings from what is, in my opinion, the most interesting period of this popular band's output (1967-1969), that is, made after the departure of Stevie Winwood, who was replaced by the 17-year-old keyboard player Eddie Hardin! In spring 1967 the hitherto rhythm'n'blues band began a fairly serious flirtation with psychedelia, resulting in two fantastic singles and the soundtrack LP to the cult film "Here We Go Round Mullberry Bush" (here also with additional material from the same session). The band's best moment, however, was the fourth album in the discography, the superb LP "With Their New Face On" (January 1968). In my opinion this is genuinely stunning playing - something like a cross between The Artwoods and the psychedelic Beatles, The Move, Procol Harum and with a pinch of Cream. In addition, the almost progressive album "Funky" from 1969, not seen on CD for 15 years, has been added, a mixture of everything that was being played at the time. All three records have been garnished with plenty of bonus tracks, and the third disc includes, among other things, previously unreleased, fantastic sessions made for BBC radio. Fans of the band need not pay attention to the fact that some of this material was previously available. The whole thing lasts four hours, and the set also includes a very nice booklet, so it is certainly worth being tempted! Highly recommended! (JL) -

The band played a rather subtle, typically British variety of progressive rock with jazz elements. No wildness, just very nice expansive tracks, full of changing moods. Alan Cartwright (later in Procol Harum) played bass here, and the vocals were performed by Graham Bell (ex-Skip Bifferty). Remastered 2020 edition, in a digipak. -

A three-disc set containing all the recordings of the British band. On the first disc it played charming progressive rock in the vein of the debut of Barclay James Harvest, combined with the second Raw Material album and with a pinch of Procol Harum and Genesis from the period of the LP "Trespass". In 1970 it was hard to make an average record if you had good role models! This is very top-shelf playing, where all the components have been properly balanced. Very good production and sound quality. Included with the record are 13 demo tracks, recorded at home by the band's leader - Chris Baker. In the new millennium the band reformed and recorded two more albums, "Brontosaurs And Bling" (2015) and "Time" (2018). For the purposes of this compilation, 14 previously unpublished bonus tracks from 2020-2021 were added to them. -

This is brand new, previously unreleased material by a British formation made up of future members of Traffic, Family and Art/Spooky Tooth - with Gordon Jackson (known from the great album with Blossom Toes and Mighty Baby as the backing group...) on vocals. Unfortunately, during the recording of the debut album (autumn 1966) Jim Capaldi left for Traffic and that was the end. Only five tracks were made. Excellent playing somewhere between freakbeat and early psychedelia - something in the style of very early Pink Floyd, Art, Fleur De Lys, etc. Recommended! Condition: NEW, sealed. -
