ABSTRACT TRUTH - ABSTRACT TRUTH - Totum +7 - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A folk-psychedelic, second album by a South African band, oscillating here between the style of Traffic, Donovan, Incredible String Band and Fresh Maggots. Two tracks last ten minutes each. Among the compositions covers of other artists' recordings predominated, while the instrumentation includes, among others, acoustic guitars, flute, percussion, sitar, tabla and so on. Decidedly psychedelic and at the same time melodic playing - to tell the truth sounding more like 1968-1969 than 1971. In addition seven tracks from the debut LP "Silver Trees". Condition: sealed -

FREEDOM'S CHILDREN - FREEDOM'S CHILDREN - Astra - GRE Missing Vinyl Remastered Limited 180g Press - LISTENprice: 140,00 PLN / 35,00 EUR
The second album by a wonderful band from South Africa - now regarded by many collectors as an absolute masterpiece of mature, psych-progressive rock! In my opinion it is a combination of the style of early Pink Floyd (1968-1969) with a pinch of Arcadium! The whole record is arranged as a kind of rock-psychedelic suite, full of original, dark sounds, frequent changes of mood and interesting instrumental parts (heavy guitars, strong Hammond organ tones) decorated with psychedelic effects. A thrilling album (worth over a thousand euros on the original Parlophone vinyl!)! A must! Remastered 2022 edition limited to 500 copies, in a gatefold sleeve. -

INVADERS - INVADERS - There's A Light There's A Way - US Digipack - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A great album by a forgotten South African formation playing dynamic, dense, heavy and slightly bluesy rock, based on the sound of guitars and Hammond organ. American digipak. Highly recommended! -

MCCULLY WORKSHOP - MCCULLY WORKSHOP - Inc. - GRE Missing Vinyl Pressprice: 140,00 PLN / 35,00 EUR
Greek reissue of the great debut from 1969 by a South African (white) formation playing a combination of late (pop)psychedelia with early progressive rock - with a juicy Hammond sound, nice parts of at times sharpish guitar, the intense playing of the rhythm section and occasional entries of flute and wind instruments. You can hear the influence of The Beatles, the Moody Blues, early Floyd and even Zappa! Juicy production and excellent sound! This is one of the most interesting achievements of this kind recorded outside Europe and America in 1969! The record in fact has no weak points. Highly recommended! New, sealed. -

MCCULLY WORKSHOP - MCCULLY WORKSHOP - Genesis - GRE Missing Vinyl Pressprice: 140,00 PLN / 35,00 EUR
Greek reissue of the second and, in my humble opinion, best album by an excellent formation from South Africa! Genesis, released in 1971, differed considerably from the debut recorded two years earlier and contained excellent and by now decidedly progressive material! This time there were no organs, and the music was dominated by intense parts for wind instruments, sharp guitar and flute! Great, extended compositions full of improvisation, which will surely appeal to fans of Traffic, Blood Sweat & Tears and If. New, sealed. -

SUCK - SUCK - Time To Suck +1 - EU Sun King Limited Press - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A superb record from South Africa, legendary among collectors. The album contained (with one exception) only covers of more or less well-known tracks from the hard and prog rock area - all performed with great dynamism and fire. Believe me that some recordings turned out better than the originals (e.g. two Grand Funk compositions or Colosseum's "Elegy"), and whose version of "War Pigs" (this is a bonus track from a rare, South African compilation from 1971!) is better - please judge for yourself... The original vinyl (released by Parlophone) in very good condition costs nearly 2000 euros! 2024 edition, in a gatefold, matt sleeve, sealed. A must! (JL) -

COOPER, JOHN & PHILIPA (see also: Freedom's Children) - JOHN & PHILIPA COOPER - Cooperville Times - South African Fresh Edition - LISTEN
Released in 1969 by South African EMI, the only album by the Cooper siblings, assisted here by, among others, musicians from Freedom's Children and Third Eye. Charming pop-psych in the vein of Donovan, Duncan Browne's debut and Billy Nicholls' album. Several tracks (with electric guitar) are decidedly psychedelic in character; the rest are gentler, but never boring! Recommended!
