QUARTZ - Quartz +5 - EU Eclipse Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE

Released in 1977, the debut album by the later NWOBHM classics, kept in the style of Black Sabbath's later recordings. It is hardly surprising, since the whole thing was produced (and contributed to musically) by Tony Iommi himself, and the band's leader at the time was Geoff Nicholls, playing guitar and keyboards - later a long-time Sabs collaborator. The superb opening track "Mainline Raiders" uncannily recalls "Heaven And Hell", which came three years later... In addition, five great recordings from rare singles (including a Mountain cover) and compilations. Excellent sound - beating the old Majestic Rock CD hands down! Highly recommended! (JL)
