MATADORS - Get Down From The Tree - Complete Recordings 1966-1968 - SPA Munster Digipack Edition - LISTEN

This very tastefully presented (extensive history of this Czech band, plenty of photos), 80-minute, Spanish CD contains 24 tracks (sung in English): 12 tracks from the classic pop-psych-blues album known in our country (including the sensational, 6-minute, painfully psychedelic Extraction) and another twelve tracks from singles and Czech compilations. The track opening the record, "Get Down From The Tree", had the honour of appearing in excellent company on the compilation box set "Nuggets II" (Rhino). Guitarist Radim Hladik and vocalist Waldemar Misik founded the excellent Blue Effect right afterwards! A compilation CD by the group Olympic came out in the same series. Highly recommended! (JL)
