Remastered (the old See For Miles edition had distorted and slightly 'wobbly' sound) and considerably expanded Swedish edition of the excellent debut album by the British formation The Alan Bown! (with an exclamation mark). This album, released at the end of 1968 by the label Music Factory, unfortunately somewhat forgotten today, certainly belongs among the best achievements of British psychedelic rock! Seriously! This excellent and criminally underrated record contains twelve unconventional, psychedelic, melodic compositions (sometimes lighter, sometimes heavier...) in a fairly "fairy-tale" mood - with the addition of a brass section. Particularly striking are the sophisticated arrangements and catchy melodies. I especially recommend the originally arranged cover of "All Along The Watchtower" (it was this very version that inspired Hendrix!), the decidedly pop-psychedelic "Toyland", and the heavy, guitar-riff-based "Penny For Your Thoughts" or the dynamic "My Girl The Month Of May". In fact it is hard to single out this or that track, because all the recordings are simply superb! In addition, it is worth paying attention to the excellent vocalist Jess Roden - later in Bronco and the Butts Band! Besides this, as many as fourteen bonus tracks are included here, among them 10 ultra-rare recordings made for the BBC! An absolute must!!! (JL) -

A limited, 52-minute black vinyl from Vernephone, released in a beautiful laminated sleeve and collecting only the psychedelic recordings by The Beatles from 1966-1968 in RARE, ORIGINAL MONO MIXES! These are not the versions remixed by Giles Martin in recent years (as in the YouTube links attached below), but the original single and album mixes from the 60s! The album includes, among others, the super-rare "Tomorrow Never Knows - Remix 11" (taken from the earliest British pressing, withdrawn after one day) and the earliest mono mix of "I'm Only Sleeping" - released on the American LP "Yesterday... And Today" - three months before the British version of the LP "Revolver"! In total, sixteen psych-rock gems that are a perfect complement to The Beatles' catalogue (and especially stereo) albums. Gordon Beck was an English pianist and composer who began performing professionally in 1960. After his death in 2011 as many as 26 albums were made available. One of them contains two sessions by his quartet, from 1968, featuring the American vocalist Joy Marshall. Besides the leader, the band consisted of: John McLaughlin - guitar, Jeff Clyne - bass and Tony Oxley - drums. As a bonus, three tracks from an April 1966 session have been included, during which Marshall also sang with Beck's trio. -
