LARRY CORYELL – Vanguard Visionaries 1969-1973 - Vanguard Records

A selection of Larry Coryell's recordings from the Vanguard Records catalogue from the late 60s and early 70s - from the period when the guitarist was among the most important pioneers of jazz-rock. The album presents both energetic compositions based on electric guitar ('Jam With Albert', 'Lady Coryell') and more lyrical, jazzy passages showing his versatility. Coryell's characteristic technique combines jazz improvisation with rock dynamics, bluesy feeling and the influences of classical music. Fans of old, jazzy, guitar-driven rock will be delighted!
